Stuffing a finger in his ear, Wil is speaking rather loudly into the wired comm as he attempts to drown out maintenance noise. He's over by the edge of the deck, already clad in his flight suit. "Lieutenant." There's a bit of a pause as he moves to a different angle to get away from the sound of an impact gun in the distance. "Just ironing out a bit of a problem with my usual bird. I can be up in five. Who else is on the roster?"

Did someone say CAP? Komnenos strides onto the deck, helmet in hand. He zips up his flight suit the rest of the way as he watches the deck crew prepare his Raptor and a pair of Vipers for the patrol. Eyes only for his Raptor, Thorn approaches Foxbat-4, taking a clipboard from a lingering deck ape and scrawling his signature on something before he starts walking around the ship, giving it his usual lookdown before boarding. He pauses mid-circle, waving slightly to Willem.

A knife only stays sharp if it is sharpened regularly, and the CAP — however exciting — does not do much to hone the skills of either Viper or Raptor Pilots and crew. Orders come down for a friendly game of 'tag' during the usual CAP, a training exercise that will pit a Viper Pilot, Lieutenant Price, against a Raptor crewed by Lieutenant Anastasius and Lieutenant JG Komnenos — assuming conditions permit.

As such, Magus stands on the wing of Foxbat-4 — finishing looking through his pre-flight checklist. The hatch is open on the Raptor, and the interior lights are keyed up.

Blake hauls things. Fixes things. But he doesn't seem assigned to Willem's bird and looks as if he's about to go on break. He's tugging down the zipper of his jumpsuit as he approaches the coffee machine, which is right next to the com station, conveniently enough. He cracks a smirk as Willem raises his voice to try and talk into the com. "Helps if you put a towel over your head." Maybe it does, or maybe the knuckle dragger just wants to see if the pilot will do it.

A bit of a glance is given on Wil's part, pursing his lips as he turns away from the phone receiver and spies, well, first thing's first. Blake. "Oho. Petty Officer." He covers the receiver with one hand and mutters, sidelong, "I just like yelling. Really. Don't get to do it very often." There's a bit of a quirk of his mouth in a half-smile as he looks back and spies the Raptor crew. "Well. Look. Right on cue. Let me see if Bangbang's actually sober enough to join us. How're tricks, P.O.?" He doesn't actually wait for Blake to respond as he speaks back into the Com. "We'll be up in five once I drag someone down here. Price out. Talk to you in the tube."

Finally, Thorn is satisfied, and he clambers up the ramp of Foxbat-4. There's a curt nod to Magus standing on the wing. "Lieutenant." With that, Komnenos is inside the Raptor and buckling himself into the ECO's seat. His hands move in a flurry of practiced movements as he brings DRADIS and the EW suite online and begins his preflight checklist.

"Thorn," Magus greets in a simple and quiet voice as he begins to walk about Foxbat-4, barely looking up from the checklist held in his hand. This seems to garner most of his attention at the moment for obvious reasons. "Looks like we got orders to go head to head with Lieutenant Price on the CAP today. We'll see if we can out fox a viper with jamming and fancy flying." He drolls quietly, his voice smooth and calm, as he finishes the checklist — passing it off to one of the deckhands that see to this Raptor. The Pilot moves into the cockpit then, and takes a seat. With his helmet sitting next to him, he starts bringing what is left of the birds avionics systems on line — even as the Deck Gang begins to drag the Raptor towards the elevator.

Blake would answer Willem, but. Well. He doesn't seem interested in a reply. He glances over and nods to another deckie, maybe secretly signalling that sugar should be put in the pilot's gas tank instead of tylium. And with that, he's off towards the stairs.

After hanging up the horn, Wil eyes the Blake with a weary expression although there's a grin somewhere beneath the surface. This done, he clomps over onto the deck, thecking Thorn and Priest's presence with a weary nod and something resembling a grunt. A few minutes later, the surly, curly-haired presence of one Ensign Bethany 'Bangbang' Wallace lopes onto to deck and proceeds to helmet up into her Viper with barely a glare at Wil. She seems pleasant enough to the Aircrew specialist though who helps her gear.

Meanwhile, Wil just makes a beeline for his usual Viper with a sigh, staring at the still-present gashes in her nose. "I'm a creature of habit." Moving to another one, he saunters up the ladder and accepts his helmet and gloves, and proceeds through the process of affixing them along with the sealed flight collar. Buttons are pushed and eyes narrowed and he gives the deckhand who hopefully didn't sugar up his tank a thumbs up.

[Into the Wireless] Magus says, "CIC, Foxbat-4, Acknowledged. We have orders to engage Lieutenant Price on a training exercise, but will take up CAP until replacements can be launched. Over."

With both crewmen on board, Thorn thumbs the hatch controls, sealing the two men in. He dons his helmet and hears the seal click reassuringly as he finishes his preflight prep. "Rebound and Bangbang, as well." Thorn clarifies the identity of their accompanying Viper section. His lips quirk at Magus' last remark. "Jamming is no problem, sir, but trying t' outfly them won't get us very far," he adds drolly.

The Raptor is drug over to the lift, while Priest talks with the tower. Once on the lift, the Lieutenant places his helmet onto his head, and his pressure seal hisses softly as well. At the ECO's commentary, Priest lets out a short laugh. "You jam. Leave the flying to me. I've got a few tricks up my sleaves for that Viper jock… I hope." With that said the pair are lifted up onto the launch deck.

[Into the Wireless] Magus says, "CIC, Foxbat-4. Your last is acknowledged. We are in launch position. Is the last CAP's Raptor returning to the barn, over?"

[STC] Seriy says, "Foxbat-4, CIC, the answer is affirmative. Current CAP Raptor is returning to base escorting the malfunctioning viper."

[STC] "Rebound" Willem says, "CIC, Wolf-5. Copy that. Raptor and Viper inbound. Much appreciated and waiting on your signal."

[STC] "Priest" Magus says, "CIC, Foxbat-4. Copy that. Waiting on your signal to launch. Over."

[STC] Seriy says, "Foxbat-4, Kharon. You are cleared to launch as soon as Wolf-5 has cleared the tubes."

[STC] "Rebound" Willem says, "CIC, Wolf-5. Copy that. Beginning launch countdown. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. Launching."

"We'll do fine enough. If we were entirely sitting ducks, Raiders would've destroyed all of our Raptors a long time back." Returns Priest calmly from the front of the Raptor. "Just need to practice being something other then a flying box." Laughs the Pilot. Then again word in the Squadron is that Priest spent a very long time as a Raptor test-pilot, and is one of the better Pilots in the squadron. Stars fill the cockpit of the Raptor as they finally reach the launch deck. The orders come to launch, and shortly after the Raptor lifts off, and heads screaming out into space.

[Wolf-5: Willem] One more thumbs-up, and Wil's Viper, following by his wing, goes hurtling through the tubes at a breakneck pace into the starry, black landscape beyond the Kharon's shell.

[STC] "Priest" Magus says, "CIC, Foxbat-4. Copy that. *Brief pause as Wolf-5 launches* Launching now. Switching over to TAC3."

[STC] Seriy says, "Wolf-5, Kharon. You are authorized weapons hot. Be advised CAP Raptor shall be returning to base. Foxbat-4 shall be joining your patrol and is launching behind you."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] The boxy shape of Foxbat-4 soon can be seen leaving the launch deck of the CEC Kharon, and rolling over to chase Wolf-5. Her engines flare brightly against the void, and she streaks up and away from the Kharon.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Actual, Rebound. Viper Wing is clear and we are proceeding in a standard CAP pattern over Kharon's airspace. DRADIS is clear of bandits, clear skies, no bandits, nothing but dust, vacuum, pretty stars. Copy that."

"Well, we haven't exactly gone unscathed thus far," Thorn reminds the pilot quietly, a soft edge in his voice as he remembers being shot down over Scorpia. "Not t' say I doubt you, but you've got t' have more than a hot hand on the stick t' survive a furball in one of these things." That's likely his own pride in his profession speaking.

[Wolf-5: Willem] And the CAP's viper wing goes hurtling off at a standard pace from the Kharon's port side, Wolf-5's pilot whirls his head about making quick, precise visual scans. If Priest can see Rebound, there's a gesture of a relaxed salute as he grins wryly behind the ghostly light of his cockpit. Engines flare and the bird banks sharply to port after a little waggle of his wings.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Priest, Rebound. DRADIS is clean where I'm sitting. Requesting status. Over."

"Well, I wouldn't want to be caught in one of these bloody things without an ECO. Thats for damn sure. Its you guys that make us more then a flying box, and keep us out of any major trouble." Says Priest calmly from the front, paying respect to the role of the ECO where it is due. "It's a team effort really. You jam. I fly. Hopefully it all turns out well." Moving towards Rebound's wing. "How is the Dradis looking back there? We can see a hell of a lot further then Rebound."

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Rebound, Priest. We're running hot, straight, and normal. Coming up on your wing. Thorn should have detailed DRADIS report momentarily."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Rebound, Thorn. I confirm; my scopes are clear."

Now that their mutual talent appreciation party is all over, Thorn is once again all business as he delivers his report over the radio. He cracks a thin smile. "You got that right, Priest. Glad t' see someone on this bucket appreciates the humble efforts of us GIBs." His tone is mirthful as he speaks, though, as he begins to get a little more comfortable with the unfamiliar pilot. "Still all clear," he reports, probably unnecessarily. "Looks like we're all alone out here."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem crackles over the wireless. "This is Rebound. Copy that. Just what I wanted to hear, over."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Priest returns Rebounds easy salute with one of his own — the salute easily seen in the bulbous cockpit of the Raptor. The bulky ships engines blaze at full strength, propelling them along with the much more nimble vipers. After the Viper's waggles its wings, and then dives over to port — the Raptor rolls over and thn chases after it.

[Wolf-5: Willem] Viper-lead smiles a tentative smile that becomes easy a short moment later as he glances back at the HUD and the airspace beyond. Throttling up a tad, Rebound's engines fire a bit hotter as he flips the stick and the bird arcs to starboard, blazing a gentle arc heading behind the Kharon's stern.

"I crosstrained as an ECO for a while. I'm not as good as most ECO's, but I certainly understand what you do for the ship back there." Priest says deeply from the front. "Unlike Viper jocks, we're not alone in the cockpit. We either work together, or we die together. The one can't live without the other." He glances at the DRADIS readout piped up to him from the back, and nods his head. "Roger that. Nothing but clear skies."

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Rebound, Priest. Tag your it. Thorn has got DRADIS. Come chase us for a bit."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem rumbles a little. You can almost hear the smile budding on his face as he calls out over the Wireless. "Priest, Rebound. Copy that.

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Rebound, Priest. Catch us if you can. Har. Har. Thorn… Jam the hell out of him, and keep an eye on the DRADIS."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Got it, Priest. Rebound, Thorn… your sensors won't know up from down by the time I'm finished with you."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Having issued the challenge to the Viper Pilot, Magus turns his Raptor away from the Viper — streaking out across space away from the Viper. The bulky ships engines flare, and they begin to roll violently.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Actual, Rebound. Requesting permission to put CAP through a little maneuvering practice while retaining patrol pattern, over."

[TAC3] Seriy says, "Rebound, Kharon. We wish you good luck. Please play nicely."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem stifles a laugh. "Kharon, Rebound. Copy that. I -always- do."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Priest, Rebound. You serious? This is going to be like chasing a school bus full of cheerleaders. Wait. That's -exactly- what this looks like. Over."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Foxbat-4 continues to scream away from Rebound, rolling as fast as it can, and attempting to out manuever the much more manuverable viper.

[Wolf-5: Willem] And just like that, Switching to training guns with a flick of the console, tracing dummy weapons are armed and the Viper flips a violent ninety-degree turn and kicks the throttle, entering pursuit.

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Rebound, Priest. Let us have it. Us cheerleaders are ready when you are. Thorn has you nice and jammed."

[Foxbat-4: Komnenos] As Wolf-5 begins its attack run, Komnenos' hands bring the ECM suite online, and a torrent of electronic jamming buffets Willem's Viper, Thorn doing his best to jam the Viper's targeting systems and deny Wil a clear lock.

Priest pitches the Raptor back and forth violently, attempting to throw off the pursuing viper. "Well, this should be interesting. Lets hope your jamming has done the trick."

[Wolf-5: Willem] With a sigh, the Viper comes hurtling through the empty blackness of space 'round the Kharon's starboard side, the pilot's eyes narrowing as he drifts towards the DRADIS console and wrinkling his nose in mock-annoyance, targeting with his -eyes- rather than the targeting indicator. He ends up clipping the Raptor's starboard side with a glancing blow. Not terribly effective.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Nice one, Thorn. That's only a mock paint-scratch. Which earns me a mock-smack upside the head from the Chief."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Heh. I'm surprised you did that well, Rebound. Not a bad shot, though, considering."

[STC] Seriy says, "Wolf-3, you are cleared to launch."

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Rebound, Priest. Lucky shot. Very lucky."

[STC] "Spider" Kai says, "Copy, Actual. Switching to tactical three once I'm airborne."

[STC] Seriy says, "Wolf-3, roger."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] The blow is a glancing one, but the Raptor is obviously going to have a tough time outrunning the Viper. Despite this fact, Priest continues to put the bulky vehicle through its paces. It noses over quickly, diving downward, and then suddenly rolls to port — trying to get out of the Vipers firing solution.

[Wolf-5: Willem] Rebound's shot wasn't a bad one, as Thorn pointed out so eloquently. It wasn't the best one he was capable of, either. Nobody can probably see the bemused smirk on his face as he makes little fine-tuned adjustments in his flight path as he attempts to line up the shot manually, his Viper bobbing and weaving in fine increments as he pursues his mock-prey.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Priest, Rebound. Tell Thorn to quit throwing banana peels out the window at me. It's poor form. Over."

[Wolf-3: Kai] A keen eye might spot the telltale spark of afterburners lighting up, as another viper clears the tubes. Then again, if keen eyes are tuned to the combat, they might not spot this at all. The minute he's dropped away from the Kharon, Spider kills his engines, goes systems dead, and coasts on momentum. Duuuhn-duhn, duuuhn-duhn. There should be jaws music playing, somewhere.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Whatever it takes, Rebound. Whatever it takes."

[Wolf-5: Willem] Another sharp bank as Rebound's Viper comes up high and to the right of the Raptor, pushing his engines a bit harder as the Tylium-fuelled trails streak through the calm void of space outside the Kharon's environs. This last training weapon-salvo hits dead-center in the top of the Raptor's airframe.

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Come on Rebound, you're just scraping the paint back there. You'd think we'd be dead already."

[Foxbat-4: Komnenos] Once again, Willem's KEWs strike a glancing blow on the bulky Raptor; Thorn's ECM is, at the very least, keeping Rebound from getting a good lock. It's not producing any misses, though, which draws a muttered curse from the ECO, despite the prodigious amounts of smack talk emanating from the Raptor.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem coughs. "Come on. I'm a nice guy."

[Wolf-3: Kai] Spider's still maneuvering purely on inertia, meanwhile. He guides his bird into a smooth roll to starboard, hand on the trigger as he visually lines Rebound up in his sights. No electronic guidance systems, no crosshairs, no nothing. Just an eye for where he needs to be when he kicks the avoinics back on again.

[Foxbat-4: Magus] The Raptor continues to bank and weave, but without cover to distract its foe, the ship can do little against the Viper. Ultimately it is just a matter of time. Still, Priest continues to try to outmanuever the Viper… A lesson in futility perhaps.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "How's it feel, Rebound?"

[Wolf-5: Willem] How convenient that Wil's DRADIS is going wonky due to Thorn's efforts. As a result, he's limiting himself mainly to visual scans, keeping his throttle honed to chase down his target. A surprising bit of flying on the Raptor pilot's part earns a curse which is not shared over the comm channels as the slower bird rolls out of the way.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem mmms. "It feels like prom night."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem adds, dryly, "And yes. She stood me up."

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Don't get cocky, Thorn. *said lightly* We've got him outgunned…"

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Oh, so you had a giant albatross of fail on your shoulders then, too, eh?"

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Foxbat-4 streaks onwards across the void, her engines burning brightly. The last shot from the Viper missed, and it apparently has given Priest a new lease on life. For a moment the Raptor flies in a course that is flat and straight, before Priest cuts the engines, and fires the ACS thrusters. Foxbat-4 spins about to face its pursuer, and then her main engines fire. She screams back towards the Viper, diving downwards as she does.

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Your mother stood you up at Prom, Rebound? Thats cold."

[Wolf-3: Kai] Three, two, one.. blast off. Spider flips switches like a madman, bringing avionics, nav, weapons and comms online with one hand, while his other's steadying the stick. If Wil takes a look in his rearview mirror right about now, there's a viper screaming in on his six. Training lasers are deployed, rapid-fire, as he closes.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "I think you just got tag-team-trolled, Rebound…"

[Wolf-5: Willem] And…Rebound follows suit, chasing his quarry down with narrowed eyes which glint a little bit in the cockpit's artificial light, jamming the controls down and about as his Viper enters a steep dive, flipping and firing off a mock-salvo at the Raptor in hot-pursuit, kicking in the throttle just enough to maintain a static distance.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem snorts. "Mother jokes. The dry hump of insult strategies."

Priest glances back towards Thorn at this moment. "Either you are doing a hell of a job jamming, or we're just damn lucky." He notes wryly, remaing calm despite having to try to avoid being shot by the Viper.

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Actual this is Fingers, request permission to launch. I'm a little late to the party, but my hot oil massage ran long."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Still more training fire passes by the Raptor harmlessly. The combination Pilot and ECO team is making Hell for the Viper on its tail. Now, they've got back-up in the form of the CAG. Priest puts the boxy ship into a barrely roll, and then pulls hard to starboard. His movements are wild, unexpected even, and obviously intended to keep the Viper Pilot guessing as to where they are going next.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem calls out over the Comms. "And furthermore, I thi —Oh, what the FRAK? Oh, looks like we've got a friend. This is Rebound. Looks like we've got a friend."

[Foxbat-4: Komnenos] A new DRADIS contact lights up on Thorn's display as Kai executes his attack run. With a snort, Komnenos paints Spider's ship with his ECM as well.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos snorts. "Not very bloody sporting of you, there, Spider. Here, got something for you, too."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Last I heard, the cylons weren't terribly into sport, either, Thorn. Evening there, Rebound."

[STC] Seriy says, "The tactical officer's compliments, and he hopes you make it earlier next time. You are clear to launch and assume CAP communication on tactical channel 3."

[Wolf-5: Willem] Checking his readouts in training mode, Wil's eyes are ripped from the target immediately as he glances at his mock ship-status readout and breaks off, tearing his ship away from his former victim in pursuit of the mock-combat's newcomer. Jamming the stick hard to port, his engines rocket away as his head searches the sky for his new 'friend,' the CAG.

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "I'll have to take it up with the spa. Going full burn, and thanks for the invite."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] As the Vipers begin to tie each other up into a furball, Priest turns his Raptor towards the distant stars, and pours on the speed. He attempts to put ground between himself, and the Vipers taking turns shooting at each other or himself. The wild evasive manuevers continue, probably enough to make a usually calm Raptor Pilot sick.

[Wolf-5: Willem] Oh, that was not fun. Maybe Wil didn't catch the wave or signal until it was a little too late. His Viper comes screaming upwards on a vector away from the Raptor he was harassing and tears ass and burns sky to close in on Kai. His DRADIS still compromised, he's relying on visual scanning here and weaves in to close in on the CAG. A burst of training fire comes afterwards, but is frustratingly ineffective. Upon his Viper's hurtling past his Captain's, there is a bit of a smile and a tight wave of his free hand, all the same.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Spider, Rebound. Yeah, I have learned from experience not to bitch about fairness in a training exercise. There's little enough to go 'round."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Oh. And evening, Fingers."

[Wolf-3: Kai] Throttling back his engines, the CAG attempts once again to drop away and pinwheel into the black, all while hunting the raptor strafing more slowly up ahead. To wit, he doesn't entirely expect Rebound to come gunning for him— but he clearly didn't entirely not expect it either, given the swiftness of his response. He jukes hard to port, scattering training lasers to the wind, and has the good grace to flash Rebound a grin out his windscreen. Whether it's spotted, who knows.

[Foxbat-4: Komnenos] Thorn sits calmly at his station, using his ECM to hammer at the Vipers with aplomb even as Magus takes the Raptor through a series of increasingly violent maneuvers. The Raptor seems forgotten for the moment as Rebound breaks off to engage his surprise assailant.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Nice shots, Rebound. You almost had me there. Shall we play tag with the big boy?"

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Just shoot the CAG down and quit bitchin' about it, girls."

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Thorn. I think using the ECM to make us disapear would be wonderful right now. They're apparently needing an easier target."

TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Bring it, Spider. If you can see through all that soup on your DRADIS, anyway. Poor Rebound was having a tough go of it."

[Wolf-8: Jupiter] Fingers shoots out of the tubes a bit late to the party. Wolf-8, her new favorite bird, cops a barrel roll out of the gate, and spins hot on the stick toward the little gathering of vessels in the black of space. She kicks in the burners going pedal to the proverbial metal, just the way she loves to fly.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem mms. "Spider, Rebound. -Maybe-, Sir. I don't know…DRADIS and targeting is a little flaky here. Having trouble confirming targets."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Old school, Rebound. Confirm with your eyes."

[Wolf-5: Willem] Rebound's having none of it, really. Oh, he smiled, waved, and probably caught the CAG's gesture but he seems to be unable to resist taking one cheap, cheap, cheap-ass shot at his C.O. as he kicks up the throttle and hurtles after the Viper, which was hurtling after the Raptor. This salvo of training lasers -doesn't- "Miss." He peels away shortly thereafter, breaking away from his neutralized target.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem coughs, dryly. "Spider, Rebound. Apologies. You looked like a Raptor. I think I need to have my eyes checked."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Welcome t' the party, Fingers. Prepare t' eat static."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Good hits, Rebound. Poor form turning on your wingman, but good hits nonetheless."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Oh, c'mon Thorn. I betcha say that to all the girls."

[Wolf-8: Jupiter] It isn't long before Fingers sails into the combat, still heavy down on the throttle and burning fuel like there's an endless supply. To say she's flying hot tonight would be an understatement.

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Rebound, I feel the love. Do you have your little sights on my six, you dirty monkey?"

[Foxbat-4: Magus] The intrepid Foxbat-4 lurges onwards. They roll. They turn. They bank. They do all sorts of things that a Raptor really shouldn't. On the other hand, in the Air-Wing it is probably a well known that Priest is a former Raptor Test-Pilot. Once again training fire streaks by the ship, but the Raptor has better luck at avoiding it then many others. "Thorn, you're making them do it all old fashioned. I love it." The Pilot says to the ECO.

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "So, Viper Pilots… Which one of you thinks you can touch us? The CAG couldn't. So far only Rebound has."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem sighs. "Fingers. You know I just avoid looking."

[Wolf-3: Kai] Spider, as it turns out, doesn't even really manage to get off much of a shot at the raptor. Rebound, clearly out for vengeance against that initial trolling that socked him one in the tailfin, manages to rain holy death upon his squad leader, thusly putting him out of the game. He waggles his wings to say that he's down for a round, and resets his training program while the others duke it out.

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "I'm busy going after a real challenge, Priest. Wait till Rebound's ass up in the black and I'll come knock on your door."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "It's rather amusing t' see a couple of Vipers flail blindly at each other like that, eh, Priest?"

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Seems like that might take a bit, Jupiter. You're right Thorn. It is a beautiful thing. Electronic Warfare. Cutting Viper jocks egos down to size for the last forty years…"

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Good luck with that, cupcake."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Rebound, get your ass back here. I got somethin' for ya."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "You know, Priest, I really think I need someone t' put that line on a t-shirt for me."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Spider, Rebound. As an aside, I feel a little bad about that. I just wanted to give a demonstration in cheap shots. Won't happen again, sir."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem coughs, "Oh, and Fingers? I usually say 'please' after something like that."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Baby, you can beg all you want, but Mama's not showin' you any mercy."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "*chuckling* You wouldn't be the first to want sweet holy revenge on the CO who sneaked up on you, Rebound. I'll consider us even."

[Wolf-5: Willem] After bringing his bird hard around to engage the newest entrant in the mock-combat, Rebound nimbly waggles the stick as his plane darts and weaves in an attempt to keep Jupiter from getting a solid firing solution on him. Which works, to some degree. However, it renders his volley against her woefully ineffective. The Vipers break off in a bloodless joust as he takes aim again.

[Wolf-8: Jupiter] Wolf-8 banks and comes around hard with one of those sudden G-pulling flip flops on a dime. Fingers' maneuver is wasted, however, as her shot goes wide on Willem. Or, rather, not so much wasted as more of an 'oh shit' display. Hope he's not pedal down without quick reflexes to pull off… SPACE CHICKEN.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem coughs. "Point taken, Fingers. Damn, that was a good turn. Where have I seen a move like that before?"

[Wolf-3: Kai] Back in the fight after a brief hiatus, the squad leader guns his engines and corkscrews into a hard barrel roll with a little speed poured on at the end. Nope, he's not really making any bones about it; he's shooting for Rebound. Double-team time.

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Foxbat-4 continues away from the roiling pit of Vipers. They seem intent to strike at each other for the moment. Because of this, the Raptor slows down, and faces back towards the battle for the moment. All of the Raptor's ECM capabilities are offered to the Vipers as they cease to focus on the 'Gremlin' in their targeting computers. For now the Raptor is quiet, but deadly… Sort of.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Back for more, Spider? Well, it wouldn't be fair t' leave you out, I suppose…"

[Foxbat-4: Komnenos] As Thorn emits his snarky remark over com, he adjusts his EW once more to encompass all three Vipers, wreaking havoc on their targeting systems.

[TAC3] (from "Fingers" Jupiter) Fingers' voice comes over the comms, though she sounds a little funny, "Oh… frak me. … Don't ever do that on a full stomach."

As the Raptor ceases to fly in all sorts of non-sensical ways, Priest looks back towards Thorn in the back — almost as if checking to see that the ECO is still back there. "I think we're ruining their evening to say the least. They're having a bloody hard time hitting anything."

In response, Thorn emits a short, barking laugh. "Takin' some of the wind out of their sails. I could think of worse ways t' spend an evening, personally." He's grinning as he continues to hammer all three Vipers with his bag of electronic tricks.

[Wolf-8: Jupiter] Wolf-8 kicks in the burners again, putting on the speed a little faster than is strictly necessary as the birds do a flyby. She tags Rebound's cockpit with a little love courtesy of years of targeting training. Fingers executes a roll, takes a wide approach, and re-aligns. She takes her time stalking her prey, giving Rebound a little time to sweat about having Fingers AND the CAG on his trail.

[Wolf-5: Willem] Oh, this wasn't good. Another pass and a similar acrobatic roll as Wil closes in on Fingers. Unfortunately he just wasn't as fast this time on the dodge. Maybe he's a little nervous about facing both Vipers at the same time. The faux-damage indicator in his cockpit lights up and this time, it's getting bad. He pulls hard back on the stick attempting to clear some distance between him and his assailants before his engines fire on another attack run.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem sighs, deadpan. "Fingers, Rebound. Nice shot. Did I touch a nerve somewhere?"

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "You hear me moan, Rebound? Gonna have to try a little bit harder."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Foxbat-4 continues to sit safely out of range of the Vipers for now. She watches them with electronic eyes. Foxbat-4 sees all. Foxbat-4 knows all. Foxbat-4 plays havoc with Viper electronics! She continues to fry everything in range with her ECM abilities, and Foxbat-4 can reach a long ways.

Wolf-3: Kai] There's no trash talking from Spider over the comms. But then, he's never been one to trash talk. Go out there, get the job done, go home. You win some, you lose some, and sometimes being the CAG's about giving the junior pilots something to be excited about. His helmeted head twists around briefly to note Fingers' approach, and he swerves in low, belly up, to snap off a few quick potshots at Wolf-5 before he strafes away again.

"You and me both," Thorn replies, agreeing with the pilot's sentiments completely. One of the simulated enemies drops from his simulated DRADIS readouts. He grins. "Looks like they finally got Rebound. Took bloody long enough."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Way to go down fighting, Rebound."

[Wolf-5: Willem] Two on one is always a terrible idea. Especially when your fighter is already sustaining some impacting wounds. Wil's got his eyes on his sights here as he stares intently down his gunsights tearing into Jupiter's airspace. Unfortunately, even as the his lasers light up the front of Fingers' plane, the combined fire from both the CAG and Lt. Black end up taking a simulated chunk out of his simulated ass. Ow. The damage indicator goes red. GAME OVER MAN. Til next round at least. He pulls out of the combat and resets his training routine with a few punches into his console.

[Wolf-3: Kai] Spider's shots don't quite land where he'd intended, but whatever gets the job done, gets the job done. He corkscrews around again until he's right side up, then kicks in the burn and streaks in along with Fingers to see about their next target.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem sighs. "Time to die on my sword, I think." A pause. "Ow. My ass."

[Wolf-8: Jupiter] It takes a bit of time, but Fingers does line up a firing solution on Rebound's ride. Apparently all those years of throwing rocks at Martin's head have paid off. The wolf-8 shoots past the mock disabled wolf-5, and Fingers' sights turn to the boxier of the ships in the sky. Now, where was the raptor?

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "I'm sure somebody'll kiss it better for you, Rebound, nice redheaded lad like yourself."

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Well, if we're the cats… Then you must be a dog then Jupiter."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Ouch."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Foxbat-4's engines suddenly flare to life, and the boxy ship veers off once again — a madman at the helm.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "I'd've come up with something clever t' say, but Priest seems t' have it covered. Besides, I'm a little busy jamming the frak out of your mangy arse, Fingers."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Bow wow, boys."

[TAC3] (from "Priest" Magus) Magus cackles into the com, as he reminds the Vipers that the Raptor is out here. "Thorn. I pissed off the dogs. Mind hitting them with the mace please?"

[Wolf-8: Jupiter] Wolf-8 bears down on the raptor, though the targeting is either a bit lazy, or Fingers is playing with her food. A laser streaks across the bow without actually hitting it.

[Foxbat-4: Komnenos] Finally, the Vipers cease their internecine struggles and turn on the taunting Raptor. Only one opens fire, though, and Jupiter's lasers streak harmlessly across the Raptor's bow. Thorn keeps up the invisible assault as his EW continues to toy with the Vipers' hapless targeting systems.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Oh, nice try, Fingers. You'll have t' do better than that, though."

[Wolf-5: Willem] Another round, another pass. Wil's magically restored Viper powers up and proceeds on an attack vector, keenly focusing on evasive maneuvers for now. Patiently lining up a shot as, well, predictably he closes in on Fingers' 6.

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "What, you don't like foreplay?"

[Wolf-3: Kai] Spider is in close pursuit as well, stick hand steady as he lines up his shot, then puts on a burst of speed as he acquires a lock. His guns open up a moment later, viper dropping into a lazy roll as he spits laser fire.

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Foxbat-4 continues to fly like bat out of Hades. Priest rolls to port, banks swiftly to starboard, and then pulls up hard. Each manuever is meant to be unexpected. Priest doesn't have to worry about targeting anything, or getting a firing solution. His entire focus is on not getting hit. His ECO can hit their target from anywhere. As such the Raptor has done well against its foes, but two Vipers versus one lonely Raptor is unlikely to turn out well.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "I tend t' prefer a more… direct approach."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Roofies and rope, check."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Fingers, Rebound. In all seriousness. Beautiful shot. In fact, the only time I've seen someone pull that off better was your brother. Heh."

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Respectfully, Sir. Meow."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "You don't need the roofies t' tie me up, Fingers. I cooperate."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Jupiter's fingers can't seem to touch Foxbat-4 this evening. The Raptor dives out of the way of her fire, and right into the line of fire offered by the CAG. The Raptor is raked in imaginary fire, a good solid hit by the CAG. The training program calculates the damage to the Raptor, and then shuts down their saving grace — the ECM controls. Things have taken a turn for the worst in Foxbat-4. Still, she continues to try to evade the fire.

[Wolf-3: Kai] There's still no chatter from the CAG. He simply lines up his crosshairs on that pesky raptor's cockpit, strafes in a little deeper with some skilful maneuvering from his port thrusters, and compensates for the jamming by intentionally spitting his shots a little wide. Bingo.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "More flying, and less smack talk, Priest. You'd be out an ECO right now, if I was a raider on your tail."

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Solid hit, Sir. Point taken."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Leave the digs to the dogs, kid."

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "We're still in it though, Viper flight. We couldn't outrun you forever."

[Wolf-8: Jupiter] Fingers is on the tail of the raptor, zipping along with it, dogging the pilot while Spider is free to ride up his ass and unload some weaponry. She stays on task, though an eye is cast toward a friend on her tail, she gives a little something extra to her pursuit, shaking that ass.

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "I'm getting that feeling I had at junior prom after one too many glasses of spiked punch…"

[Wolf-3: Kai] Rather than turn on his wingman, Spider pours on a little more speed while the raptor's temporarily without its ECO, and keeps the pressure on with another series of rapid-fire shots.

[Wolf-5: Willem] Meanwhile, Wil's very much been that faithful, pursuing friend. At the very least, he hasn't emptied his bag of tricks early, taking advantage of his high angle of attack he attained those precious few moments ago after sitting out a section of the fight, trailing after Fingers with a wary doggedness.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Well, according t' this, I'm out of it. Good luck, Priest."

[Wolf-3: Kai] Maybe it's not sporting enough for the CAG, firing on a ship that can't even begin to match a viper for speed, and down its ECO to boot. No sense demoralising the troops, now. Once he's made his point, Spider breaks off pursuit and stalls his engines, ratcheting his fighter around in a sickening high-G spin until he's facing Fingers' assailant. He kicks in the thrusters again, and immediately lights his guns mid-strafe.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Oi, come on, Spider. I'm already 'dead', what else d' you want?"

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Knock knock, Fingers. Just trying to get your attention."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "I hear you knocking, baby, but you can't come in."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Just a little wakeup call, Thorn."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Priest is silent now. Without the ECO, to watch his back, he is left to fly without much help. Against Jupiter he escapes time, and time again. The Raptors movements keep him out of her sights. The CAG though has the Raptor bracketed, and Foxbat-4 is stuck between a rock and a CAG. The ship pitches into a wild barrel roll now, even as it is struck again. In the cockpit the stars wheel about sickeningly. Suddenly it dives downwards again, trying to evade the fire from the CAG.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem sighs, dramatically. "I know. Next time I'll wear a sock."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Now why'd you have to go and say something like that?"

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Come on Lieutenant JG. Don't back off us now. We've got our dance to finish."

[TAC3] (from "Rebound" Willem) The only sound from Rebound's Viper is some innocent, tuneful whistling, initially. "To be obnoxious. I apologize. Sincerely."

[Wolf-8: Jupiter] Fingers pulls off her current target to go give Rebound a little piece of her mind. She pulls a pretty swift bank and flip maneuver, and holds down the chunks better this time. No nausea is present in her voice when she says…

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "I'll just take it out of your ass…"

[Wolf-5: Willem] All the while, Rebound's Viper has been rolling and swaying in time with his target, matching Jupiter's speed and trying to zero in on the tiny bubble of the Viper's cockpit. A few 'rounds' are fired off and light up a damage indicator some small increment. Just to get her attention, he said. Really. Her attention gotten, he spins the bird around at a sharp angle to zero in in her Viper now, a tilt of his head warily at his new-found assailant. Uh oh.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem repeats. "Fingers, Rebound. Seriously. Was just trying to rile you up. And LOOK, IT WORKED."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Don't sweat it, Rebound. I'm gonna go backhand a marine when we're through here."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem adds. "Sneaky, sir."

[TAC3] "Knight" Praxis says, "CAP, this is Knight at Kharon, taking over the comms. Can I get a status report?"

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Aaand… I'm back in. I know you missed me, Red Squadron."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Kharon, Rebound, Captain Marek and Lt. Black have joined us for…'maneuvers practice.'"

[TAC3] "Knight" Praxis says, "Rebound, Kharon, understood."

[Foxbat-4: Magus] As once again the Vipers turn on each other, Foxbat-4 is left to her own devices. The training program is reset for his ECO, and once more the Electronic Warfare starts up again. Targeting computers flicker. DRADIS offers up phantom readings, and all sorts of Gremlins rear their ugly heads.

[Wolf-3: Kai] After sinking a few nice, solid mock rounds into Rebound's hide, Spider burns out of the merge, and break-turns away like the acrobatic creature he is, when strapped to a viper. One might almost think he enjoys the flying, itself, more than the shooting up of shit. A new pursuit curve is sought, system readouts checked as he tries to gain a firing solution on the raptor again. Since they asked so nice.

[Wolf-8: Jupiter] Wolf-8 takes it up the strata, and Fingers smacks the console to coax a little bit more out of the gimpy bird. Mock combat or no, she's crippled now. And only a prayer to the Gods is likely to help her hit Rebound at this point.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Let them eat static, eh, Priest?"

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Let 'em have it, Thorn. Training program says we're still wounded. Lets see how long we can last."

[Wolf-5: Willem] All that dogged pursuit and flipping about with Wil might have gotten him another solid faux-hit on the 'brain' of Fingers' Viper, per se. He comes around for another pass, smiling gently behind the pale light of his helmet as his bird comes down after hers on her 10.

[Foxbat-4: Magus] Foxbat-4 is a tank. They've taken a multitude of hits, but their armor, and sheer bulk allows them to keep flying. The Raptor has a lot of redundant systems, and a lot of open space on the inside. Some shots could technically pass right through and hit nothing. On the other hand, some shots would probably play havoc with the ECM capabilities. Even as Priest continues to try to outrun the CAG in a losing battle, the ECM console takes another hit.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Alright, Vigilantes. Playtime's over. Rebound, let's bracket them. Fingers, loose deuce on whatever's left."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Oh, now that you've hit my ECM… *now* you're feelin' froggy, eh?"

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem calls out over the Wireless, "You know, Thorn? I finally figured out how you got your callsign. Your real one, that is." He neglects to trashtalk Jupes any further, as the CAG has called off playtime. He adds, "Spider, Rebound. Copy that. Raptor-swatting."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Gimping up the rear, PapaBear."

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Do the best you can back their, Thorn. We couldn't live forever anyways."

[Wolf-5: Willem] Playtime is indeed over. As another joust is missed, partially due to their faux-damage, and partially due to the ECM shenanigans that Thorn lays thick on him, Rebound breaks and closes in on the poor, poor Raptor in attack formation, training weapons about to blaze.

[Wolf-3: Kai] Spider doesn't even turn around to see whether his intrepid wingmen are following. If they aren't, there'll surely be hell to pay. He dives deep into his pursuit curve, letting Willem take the shallower route to firing on the raptor. He, of course, has more speed by the time he sidles up on the slower bird's nine o'clock, and lets loose a spray of laserfire.

[Wolf-5: Willem] No joy on Rebound's initial salvo. From his distance, it was a crap shoot with a manual aim. He grits his teeth and continues on his vector as he chases down the target.

[Foxbat-4: Magus] The pilot from the Raptor crew remains silent now. All the Vipers turn on the lonely bird of prey. For now its luck holds. It dances away from the fire offered by the pursuing foes. The ship turns back towards the Kharon, and makes a break for it. No doubt it wont attempt to land during a training exercise, but the Pilot makes that attempt none the less.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Repeat. You're no fun anymore, Thorn."

[Wolf-3: Kai] Thanks to either a fancy bit of flying, luck, or both— the raptor manages to juke out of the way of all three vipers' training lasers. But the Captain's nothing if not dogged; he pours on a bit more speed, and once again lines up his shot as soon as he has the raptor's bulky self in his sights again.

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "How's it feel, Reds? A little salty, perhaps?"

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Same thing, boys. Bracket and deuce them up."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "I aim t' please, Rebound."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Salty? I think I slept through something here."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "I can believe it, Fingers, from the way you're shootin'."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "My board's red all the way across. I may as well be spitting at you from the deck."

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Yeah, and my ECM board's shot t' hell. Excuses, excuses."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "OH! How's that for Salty?"

[TAC3] "Thorn" Komnenos says, "Took you long enough."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Good work, all of you. Switch off your training consoles, and let's bring the birds in."

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Spider, Priest. Roger then. Good hunting all of you. Hell of a workout here."

[STC] "Priest" Magus says, "CIC, Foxbat-4. Requesting permision to enter landing pattern. Hands on approach."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Spider, Rebound. Copy that. Thanks for the workout, -all- of you. Heading back to the barn, over."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Thanks for keepin' me honest, Rebound. Last one in pounds Tinman's dents out of the deck."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "I think we're about even. To be fair. Done and done."

[TAC3] "Knight" Praxis says, "Foxbat-4, Kharon. You have clearance to land."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Kharon, Spider. Bringing in the cat, it's clean as a whistle out there."

In the pilots seat, Magus lets out a quiet sigh, and then looks over his shoulder towards Thorn. "Nice jamming, Thorn. It was a pleasure." The quiet and calm tones of the Raptor Pilot return here, his personality slowly returning to that of the man he typically is on the deck. "We'll have to see about doing this again sometime." He turns back to the controls, guiding the Raptor in towards the landing deck slowly.

[TAC3] "Priest" Magus says, "Kharon, Foxbat-4. Roger that. Making my approach now. Over."

[Wolf-3: Kai] It's all hands-on around here, baby. Spider chops his throttles to burn a little speed on the way in, and the last thing seen is a bright flare of blue afterburners as he strafes in.

Thorn gives the pilot a nod. "Not too shabby on the stick there yourself, Priest." There's no trace of his earlier reticence in his tone as he speaks, though he, too, is a bit more solemn as he gets out of smack-talk mode. "You've got yourself an ECO. Until my usual pilot is back on flight status, at any rate." He smiles sardonically at that. "Ivory's got first dibs on my services when he gets back."

"It'll be a joy to fly with you again in the future, and when Ivory gets back… I'll reluctantly return you." Says Magus quietly, as he sets the ship down on the elevator, and they begin to be slowly lowered into the Hangar. "The Captain keeps switching me up when it comes to ECO's. It seems I am doomed to get to know every ECO on the ship, rather then guard one jealously." He laughs, pulling off his helmet.

Once his fighter's been towed and tagged, a petty officer comes bustling up with a ladder and a clipboard. Same old routine; Kai could probably do this in his sleep. He pops his canopy after a few moments of fiddling with something, and holds still while his helmet's release is popped, and the thing's slid off. "Stabiliser's still off," he mutters, not even looking up to the young woman folded bonelessly over his viper's cockpit. The pair launch into low-voiced conversation at that point, complete with prodding of a lever or two inside there.

Jupes hops out of her viper as soon as it's towed in and locked. Her canopy remains open as she drops her helmet into the seat, then reaches up to pull her collar off before the aircrew specialist gets involved. She grabs up a post flight clipboard and goes on down the line with the pen before she signs off, and tosses that aside. Her gloves are shoved into a pocket, and she stifles a yawn.

Foxbat-4's hatch opens, disgorging its crew. Thorn is the first one down, and he accepts the clipboard from the approaching PO, giving it a scribble here and there before handing it back. "I've been getting t' know most of the pilots pretty well, myself," he calls back to Magus. "I've been communal property, basically, since Ivory went down." There's a short chuckle from the itinerant ECO.

As Foxbat-4 is lowered to the deck, and then towed to its position in the hangar bay. One of the Deck Crew hops up onto the ships stubby wing, and hands the clipboard to Magus. He quickly runs through the checklist, and despite the fancy flying has no major complaints for the Deck Crew — at least when it comes to avionics. ECM is left for Thorn. "Well, I'll try not to abuse that fact too much." Says Magus smmothly with a short laugh, before he steps off the wing.

Inevitably, one of the deck hands is called over to take a look, immediately, at Spider's stabiliser. He's not so much a primadonna, as he is, well. The CAG. And if the CAG bitches about the vipers, the CAG generally gets attention. No promises on whether said attention will or will not choose to take its sweet ass time fetching a cup of coffee first, but. "Nice shooting out there, Fingers. Rebound was on his game tonight." Kai's clambered down the ladder by now, and taking a walk around his machine as he ticks things off on his clipboard.

"My shooting is always nice, Spider," Jupiter replies, shaking her hair out of the tail after she tugs the rubberband free. Jaw length curls are a little bit of a mess, so she runs her fingers through them and snaps the band onto her wrist. "I've taken it up the ass from lesser men." Yeah, she just said that out loud in casual conversation.

"Well, I guess its time for another shower." Notes Magus dryly, running a gloved hand through his wet hair. He stands there next to Foxbat-4 for a moment, and kneels down to pat the ship lightly. He then looks to Komnenos, then to the Viper Pilots, and then returns his gaze to the ECO. He offers a slight shrug of his shoulders. "Hell of a night, Thorn. You can have a drink on me back in the berthing."

The Raptor's post-flight checklist is finished in short order, and with no problems with their craft to report, Foxbat-4's crew is good to go. Thorn nods to Magus with a slight smile. "You're on, Priest." His meandering pace takes him over in the neighborhood of the Vipers. "Nice shooting out there, Spider, Fingers." No more smack talk, now that the furball's over and the ships are back on the deck.

Kai chuckles softly, but doesn't so much as bat an eye at Jupiter's last remark. He's heard worse, no doubt. Scribble, scribble goes his pencil. The checklist's completed and passed back to the petty officer, who salutes him crisply and wanders off with it. "Priest, Thorn, you two made a good team up there," is noted to the pair of raptors. He's not a man to smile much, but there's approval in his voice. "I'm going to be running another of those atmo ops pretty soon. Keep those skills sharp." He winks a little at Komnenos.

Fingers finishes off bitching quietly at one of the Deck, then she turns to make her way toward the hatch, her trash talk for the day thoroughly imparted. She throws a hand into the air to wave to her fellow wing, and heads for the showers. "Peace, kids."

Raptor Pilot drifts a long a few steps behind the ECO, letting Thorn talk first. "Sir, Fingers. Great shooting out there. Thank you, sir." Magus offers magnanimously to the pair, along with a nod of his head to each. "Looking forward to the Atmo missions. Looks like me and Thorn might go out a few more times until his Pilot returns to active duty." Priest's voice is calm and deep now. Bravado is not needed or useful down on the Deck.

"Well, you definitely kept my hands full, sir," Thorn replies to the CAG. "Good practice, though, t' be sure. And thanks." He runs a hand through his helmet hair. "See y' later, Fingers," he hails the departing Viper pilot.

"Ivory should be returning to duty tomorrow, in point of fact," Kai points out mildly, with a brief glance toward Magus. "But it's up to Captain Legacy to decide who she wants to fly with whom." The departing Jupiter receives a slightly furrowed brow, though he doesn't chase her down. "Rest easy, boys," the Ghostriders are told in parting, helmet hitched up in brief salute before he turns for the stairs himself.
