Beacon Beacon 2
Beacon, Beacon, Who's Got The Beacon
Summary: Air Wing mock battles with capture the beacon and some drag.
Date: PH057 (14 June 2009)

[Wolf-2: Jupiter] After a quick trip back for a reset, Jupiter is at full throttle on the return trip to the mock combat in progress. Dogging the squadron leader didn't go so well, and the Jig turns her sights to a different approach. She tracks down Castor to give him a little assist.

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie says, "Aye sir. Requesting a return to base."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Frak. Careful, Mooner."

[Wolf-5: Xanthus] A few choice words are followed by a few choice shots. Jester's VR guns strike Tinman's wing. It's only after the target changes course that he stops bearing down so recklessly on the other pilot.

[TAC3] "Rabbit" Hale says, " See you home Mooner. Keep her safe"

[TAC3] "Tinman" Castor says, "Good flying Mooner."

[TAC3] "Jester" Xanthus says, "Tinman, this is Jester. What's your favorite color, brother? Ugh. Mooner, fly safe."

[Wolf-1: Kai] Spider pours on a little more speed as he hones on on where Eddie smoked the ravine wall, letting the 'game' play on around them for the time being.

[TAC3] "Tinman" Castor says, "Jester you open your mouth again, and you are no longer my family do we have an understanding?"

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "What's your damage like, Mooner? Think you'll be able to get out of atmo?"

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie says, "Here goes nothing…"

[Wolf-9: Mars] Mars moves along after Kai; monkey-see, monkey-do.

[Wolf-7: Willem] Uh oh, It just got personal. Well, maybe not. But Rebound and Rabbit continue their joust, this time, rounds going wide. It's one of those head-on engagements. Willem's Viper comes in from a little high as he attempts to paint the cockpit at a slight angle. Given his positioning, Rabbit's shots go wide, but Rabbit pretty much demonstrates how he earned his callsign as the elder pilot pulls off a dodge that is impressive, to say the least. Willem's free hand raises up in a salute towards the Lieutenant as he flies by, although it may not be easy to catch. Slamming the bird in a hard roll Starboard he tries, well…again.

[Wolf-2: Jupiter] It isn't long before Fingers is once again on the trail of her wingmate, and she maneuvers a little further afield to check his target. It takes her only a moment to catch Xanthus' moves, and she's on an intercept trajectory before you can say Dead Meat.

[TAC3] "Rabbit" Hale says, " I'll be back for your ass here soon enough-Rebound. give me a minute to reset."

[Wolf-8: Eddie] Flying with only starboard stabilizer working in deep space is one thing. In atmo is another. Eddie tries to pull up out of the ravine, but her bird rocks dangerously and she over-corrects, sending her into the opposite wall like a ping pong ball. Wolf-8 takes a dip, and Eddie has just enough time to cut out her thrusters before she does a nice belly slide across the icy surface of this rock. Fins of snowy slush are kicked back in her wake, and she eventually skids to an abrupt stop.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Set her down, Mooner. I'll call in for a ride for you."

[Wolf-6: Castor] Tinman seems to have made this personal, he begins flying close, a little closer than he should as he attempts to light into Xanthus, it is unclear why he would do this but his flying has become agressive. He then pulls on his trigger in an attempt to wipe the jokes out of the Jester.

[Wolf-5: Xanthus] After dropping a few more shots on Castor's viper, Jester apparently decides it's time to go. He turns really hard, pulling on the stick and making up for talent with actual numbers. He's really not that good. He just knows enough aerodynamics to cheat. And now that he's gotten a people's attention, he leads them on a chase, swooping under what appears to be a naturally formed ice bridge, around some rocky mountains, and just under an enormous boulder.

[Wolf-4: Hale] Rabbit Chuckles and shakes a fist as his Viper screams off the damage. And so he brings his bird about towards the Staging area- so he can bring it on back for another go. A waggle of his tail enough to salute Rebound on the good kill before he is taking off. He'll be back.

[TAC3] "Jester" Xanthus says, "Hey, come and get me!"

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie *static*

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Kharon, Spider. Requesting SAR on the surface of Periander-four, coordinates to follow, along with recommended point of entry."

[Wolf-7: Willem] FOOM. Someone got lucky. Well, not like -that-. In any case, Willem's gambit pays off as he hits the throttle, full-burn to pull himself out of Hale's firing solution. Anyone who's been paying much attention to his recent sim logs would note this was the same move that he pulled in Fenris' recent sim scenario and it's equally effective here. Whatever her thoughts were, about it. Well, it's a bit different, being atmospheric, so it's less of a spin and more of an outside loop around the rear of Hale's bird. He aggravates the 'wound' he caused earlier and continues to chip away at the engine's mock damage. Boom. No more Hale. Til next round. Oh, if you could see the assholish smirk on Wil's face right now. He's…not like this out of the cockpit, that's for sure.

[TAC3] "Tinman" Castor says, "Jester I swear by my ancestors you are no longer my family and may the Lords you believe in keep you safe because I swear I'll not lift a finger to save your life. Rot in hell and shut your whore mouth."

[TAC3] "Rabbit" Hale says, " Spider. Rabbit, you want me to Swing round and check up on her?"

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Spider, Black Cat. Ivory and I are enroute for the pickup."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Don't worry. Everyone gets lucky once. That was just my turn, Rabbit."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Whoah whoah whoah whoah. Tin. Leda. Can we save this for another time? You're interrupting the wholesome stream of profanity I had prepared."

[Wolf-7: Willem] Which is funny, because, well, Wil's coming in at an aggressive angle, with his sights set…right on Castor.

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "I know I took a KO, but what the frak did I miss?"

[TAC3] "Jester" Xanthus says, "What, you mean you're serious? Tinman, I don't know what crawled up your butt and died and I know I'm new on this squadron, but I think you just failed as a pilot. Don't watch my back. I've still got yours."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Tinman, take it easy. You start pitching a tantrum, and you're getting sent to sit in the corner for a while."

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] From the direction of Kharon comes everyone's favorite type of bird - the Foxbat - sliding gracefully along like a lumbering beast in the direction of the coordinates given. Thea's at the yoke, Timon's at the back controls.

[TAC3] "Tinman" Castor says, "Aye, Captain, I'll back off, but if that jig calls me a failure again I'll put him in the grave."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Buy panties in a bigger size, Tins."

[Into the Wireless] Jupiter says, "Buy panties in a bigger size, Tins."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "You'll do no such thing, Tinman. In fact, I think you're done for today. RTB."

[TAC3] "Tinman" Castor says, "Aye, sir."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Tsk tsk. Threats are unbecoming and damaging to Morale. *sigh*"

[Wolf-6: Castor] Tinman complies with orders after all he follows through on his return to base.

[TAC3] "Rabbit" Hale is going to weigh in though Kai needs not his help. "Lieutenants. Stow it."

Lost DRADIS Contact: Wolf-6 heads for CEC Kharon.

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Spider, Black Cat. Got the lost kitten in sight about 30 klicks from the rendezvous. Heading in now."

[Wolf-1: Kai] Kai is out of the game, for all intents and purposes. He sets down near Eddie's craft, and pops his canopy— quickly greeted by a rush of bitterly cold wind carrying snow that cuts like little daggers. The Captain's headed toward the other viper, sidearm at the ready while he continues to relay instructions over his comm unit.

[Wolf-7: Willem] Wil hesitantly sets his sights in the cockpit on the other Raptor, but he too is, well, unsure.

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Copy that, Sir. Are we…calling for a break in this little game?"

You will no longer hear messages on channel <Public>.

[TAC3] "Rabbit" Hale says, "Spider. Rabbit. Permission to break off fomr the game and keep a watch on you. Make sure no nasties come into play while we're seeing to Mooner?"

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Copy, Black Cat. I think she's fine, just clipped a wing.. and frakked her starboard thruster. I hope you've got a mechanic in there with you."

[TAC3] "Ivory" Timon says, "Spider, Ivory, sorry to disappoint. Just me and Black Cat."

[TAC3] Mars says, "Hey Spider, if I make idle threats, can I go back to base too? I'd rather be in my bunk."

[Wolf-4: Hale] Once around the staging Area, Rabbit keeps flying , basically keeping in a holding pattern until further instruction. If games are to continue-then Hale will head back into the fray, but for now he is taking time to wait to hear from the Captain.

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Spider, Black Cat. Only mechanic we've got is me, so we may be towing our little girl home. I think we're just a few minutes out from your… hold on, Spider."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Permission granted, Rabbit."

[TAC3] "Rabbit" Hale says, "Copy that Spider. Rabbit. Coming over head, and will hold."

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Spider, Black Cat. Can you have Rabbit keep close to you all? I'm taking us toward a signal about 30 klicks from you. Colonial."

[Wolf-4: Hale] A punch of the thrusters and Rabbit is moving away from the mock dogfights as he is heading on to where the grounded craft are noted on his DRADIS. Soon enough they'd be able to see the Viper overhead in a routine fly by before he is banking right, and moving into a holding pattern above them in and out of the clouds. But he will be roughly over the crash site- keeping patrol.

[Wolf-9: Mars] With a distinct lack of orders and no response on being able to RTB if she gets the Killin' Rage going on over channel, Mars pulls upwards for a look towards gold base. Spotting some vipers in the distance, the skirmishing blue and gold vipers to be accurate, she heads in that direction.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Black Cat, Spider. Confirm: a signal?"

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Spider, Black Cat. Confirmed. Signal from a Colonial vessel. Advise you to hold position while we recon."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "Spider, Rebound. Sir, permission to disengage from exercise with Jester and commence a general patrol? This is…"

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "All points, break off. Consider the exercise finished. Rebound, Mars, RTB. The rest of you form up on Rabbit and rendezvous with Black Cat. Take your training lasers off, weapons hold."

[TAC3] "Rebound" Willem says, "What?….Aye sir. Rebound, RTB."

[Wolf-5: Xanthus] Looks like there won't be a cinematic chase through implausibly situated terrestrial hazzards in Xanthus' future. Maybe. At least not with his squadronmates chasing after him. He rolls left, then lights his afterburners to form up on Hale as ordered. Inside his cockpit, he does whatever one has to do to make a viper shoot for real.

[TAC3] "Rabbit" Hale says, "Copy that Spider. Weapons are on Hold. Fingers, and Jester you heard the man. Lets keep our eyes open."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Copy. Be with you in a moment, Rabbit."

[TAC3] Mars says, "Thank you, sir."

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Thea's Foxbat continues to glide through the air, on an intercept course with that signal. She throttles back slightly until her escorts have caught up. No, she's not a stupid Raptor Driver. It's always better to have the people with guns nearby.

[Wolf-1: Kai] After sending the message over the comm, Kai trudges closer to Morales' fighter, and raps a gloved hand on the canopy. Twice, three times. Once he's sure she's alive and well, he radios in for another raptor to come and pick her up. And proceeds to wait there with her, until they arrive.

[Wolf-9: Mars] Wasting zero time, Mars pulls back on her stick and drives her bird upwards. Navigating the atmospheric turbulence, she forms up on Willem and returns, straightaway, to the Kharon.

[Wolf-4: Hale] Rabbit switches off the sim, weapons coming on as the program is flicked over. Systems are on hold as he continues to Circle overhead-like some giant metallic grow, keeping an eye on a downed animal, till the others form up, and off he will go to take over escort duty. He's good like that.

[TAC3] "Jester" Xanthus, for all his grace under threat, sounds a little shaken, finally. Castor's words come back to haunt him, or fear of the unknown, he does not sound like his cocky self, "Yes, I did. Coming, coming in on your back."

[Wolf-2: Jupiter] Fingers breaks off pursuit of Xanthus with a down throttle and reversal. Her viper flips and shoots off in the opposite direction, headed for a meet with Rabbit.

[Wolf-1: Kai] There isn't much to see of the planet, for a good long stretch. Scrubby, rocky lowlands, most everything is covered in snow and ice, and threaded with trickle-thin rivers an inch away from freezing over. Barely visible in the distance, is an outcropping of.. what could only be termed rubble. Scorch marks fan out around it, spidery lines of vanishing ice.

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Spider, Black Cat. We've got a Colonial Distress beacon. Going in fast and heavy. Losing the signal."

[TAC3] "Rabbit" Hale says, "Black Cat. Rabbit, I'm on your heading. Consider yourself guarded. Be careful down there."

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Thea brings the Raptor in fairly close to the downed Colonial, close enough for Timon to get what he needs, but not quite close enough to buzz the poor ship.

[Wolf-2: Jupiter] It isn't long before Fingers is in the vicinity of Hale's viper, flying fairly low to the ground and scouting the area. She veers toward the scorched area to have a closer look. She likes craters. She likes making craters more. Too bad she didn't go down the marine demo path…

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Kharon CIC, Black Cat. We're getting pictures and recordings from a Colonial distress beacon before RTB. Any further?"

[Wolf-4: Hale] Rabbit takes the High road, as his Viper stays close up, and behind the tail of the Raptor, Eyes peeled, incase he needs to break into attack, still the Viper Pilot, is keeping tabs on the Raptor and the skies.

[Wolf-1: Kai] Well.. except it isn't a ship. It looks like it might, at one point, have been a building. Or a cluster of buildings. Now? It's a twisted, toppled over ruin of what was once probably very industrial architecture spanning several city blocks. Yep, the signal's coming from somewhere inside there.

[Wolf-5: Xanthus] Jester keeps his viper on Rabbit's wing and, for once in his life, shuts the hell up. It be a cold day in hell.

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Kharon CIC, Black Cat. RTB with pictures of what appears to be buildings. Industrial architecture. Black Cat to Viper escort, we're going home."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Black Cat, Spider. We've got a SAR down here with Mooner, and are following you back to base now."

[TAC3] "Rabbit" Hale says, " Black Cat. Rabbit. Copy, I'll be watching our way home. Alright, Fingers, Jester Form up and lets get everyone out of here nice and easy"

[TAC3] "Jester" Xanthus says, "Jester, Rabbit. Copy, lead."

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] And so Foxbat-1 sweeps cleanly around in an arc, heading back in the direction of the Kharon. It's a smooth and easy movement designed to get everyone home safe. Momma cat with all Kai's guardian kittens heading home.

[Wolf-1: Kai] Spider, and Mooner's taxi swoop in as well to join the parade of ships heading home.

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Not the greatest scenery. I think I'll pass on the summer home here."

[Wolf-2: Jupiter] Fingers turns with her fellow pilots to RTB, yawning just as she closes her comms. Atmo makes her sleepy.

[Wolf-4: Hale] Rabbit keeps his follow on Legacy, head on towards Kharon, and home Sweet home. Nothing like a shower and a shave to do the body good.

[TAC3] "Jester" Xanthus says, "Sure it's cheap."

[TAC3] "Fingers" Jupiter says, "Doesn't mean you want it."

CEC Kharon, Hangar Deck, Hangar Bay 1

IC Time: Post Holocaust Day #57
OOC Time: Sun Jun 14 23:42:05 2009

There's activity here at almost every hour of the day. Impact guns can be heard with their shrieking rumble while crew call back and forth, their voices carrying just above the din of the work here. What's readily apparent is that this is the main Hangar Bay for the Vipers, the distance going back further than the other two Bays which are separated by thick, hydraulically rolled blast doors. On each side of the room, near the Fore end, six Viper tubes are ready for quick deployment of the Kharon's Viper squadron. Lining the rest of Hangar Bay One, each Mark Two and Mark Seven has its own place to be kept with a small red toolchest that holds the minimum of required equipment for quick maintenance.

Along the floor, each individual Viper bay is painted off with a single hashed yellow and black stripe. A deep red line denotes important electrical conduits and access ports just below the deck while a bright blue line follows up walls and across the floor to tell where the Tylium lines run in case of fire. Outlets along the wall for the fuel as well as corrugated rubber piping stand ready for use, fluorescent yellow firefighting gear kept in plain sight for easy access nearby.

[Wolf-5: Xanthus] Jester's viper is towed in. The canopy opens and some deck crew help him out of the ship.

Ashe is standing in conversation with Castor near the hatch, looking all Marine Duty like while talking to the man. As Mars moves off, he does a firm nod of recognition as she leaves along with a polite, "Sir." Looking back towards the other though, he grins a bit. "I'll try to bring some kind of peace offering. Just name your time and place… and promise that after I get beaten with a chair, you'll make sure to drag me to sickbay after my pockets are rummaged through."

Just on Jester's heels, Fingers' viper is towed in from the flight deck shortly after. The viper comes to a stop and an Aircrew Specialist hops over in an orange jumpsuit to help her off with the helmet, post canopy opening.

Castor shakes his head, "I'll give you my word that nothing bad will happen to you when you and I meet, after all, you are family. No chairs, no beating and no pockets rummaged through." It would appear that Castor is waiting for someone to come back from flight exercises and for now he is his normal self when he speaks to Ashe. "Maybe tomorrow in the lounge, does that sound okay to you?"

Once his bird's landed and secured-the cockpit is opened and Hale's clambering out of the Viper and down the side of the the bird via the wee stairs that are pressed to the side. The crew chief passes him his cockpit, and he is quickly filling it out before passing it back-after all Rabbit took no real damage. A glance is given over towards Jupiter's Viper and he is coming closer. "How're you there Fingers?"

Xanthus makes no attempt to sneak past. In fact, he's walking slowly across Castor's field of view, though he's also not stopping to meet with Castor either. Curiously, he's insisted on leaving his helmet on.

And out of the Foxbat, once the post-flight checks have been done, emerges Thea. She takes a moment to pull her helmet off and shake her hair out before she starts down to the deck. "Everything sanitized," she calls up to Timon, quietly. "And good work out there. I need to find my escort and tell them the same."

Jupiter hops out of her viper, clears the cockpit, and thunders with heavy boots down the steps. She leaves the helmet on the seat of the viper, trusting the specialist to stow it after an examination. The Jig turns to Hale as he addresses her, looking up to the taller pilot. "Blue skies, Rabbit."

Roubani breezed up here to find a missing engineer, who is easily enough found. Just got caught up pulling out some wiring somewhere. He tucks a clipboard into the crook of his arm, watching the sea of Vipers and single Raptor come back to the deck.

Ashe nods towards Castor. "Sir, barring any unforseens, certainly sir." His eyes drift then to the arriving pilots and the well… things that are going on. A tilt of his head and a soft chuckle escaping his lips at something overheard.

Kai touches down cleanly, without any fuss or bother. A few sparks as he brings in the bird and hits the trap, but Fenix won't have any new racing stripes in her deck tonight. Once he's gotten his tow, and his canopy off, there's an aircrew specialist clambering up the ladder to help him with his seat harness and helmet. Looks like a pretty uneventful mission, all things considered. Well, except for Mooner's fighter needing a little help to get airborne again.

Leda looks at Ashe, "A moment please." He then begins walking toward Xanthus, "No, you don't get to walk away." And suddenly his body takes on that strange detached movement as does his face, "You and me we are talking, boy." The way he says the word boy however isn't as detached, it has an angry tone to it. Those who know Castor will know that right now, his utter calmness with Xanthus means that bad things might be happening soon.

"I never have good days," Timon calls back, tiptoeing onto the Raptor's wing before hopping down to the deck. "Just days when I don't screw up. Count me among those glad that this was one of them." Timon deflects his commander's compliment with aplomb, unbuckling his helmet and blinking a few times to clear the fuzz out of his head. Then, he's hot on Legacy's six, striding after her to add his thanks to the mix.

"Good." hale hearitly replies, with a slap of his big paw of a hand onto her shoulder, before he's looking back over towards where Jester took off. Keeping tabs on the other JiG slightly- Abraham is looking back to Jupiter with a slight nod. "Did well out there, even if our Team was gettin chopped to bits. Just thought you should know. Good work." a wink and with that he's moving to go and check on his wingmate's bird.

Roubani just watches, as he tends to do these days. Nobody looks like they've broken anything, human or metal, so briefly his eyes go back to his various checklists. Checks.

Kai seeks out Castor in the group, and follows the pilot as he approaches Spiros across the deck. Brows furrowing slightly, he offers a few murmured words to the petty officer with her checklist, and scales his ladder so he can mark a path toward Tinman. He's not moving briskly, yet. Merely with purpose.

Jupiter pulls off her gloves with her teeth, and stows them under a strap on her flight suit. She reaches up to tug her hair free of its tail, little curls damp with sweat cling to her neck. She stands there for a moment, as Hale claps her shoulder and gives her some kudos. "… Uh. Lieutenant? Thanks, but my frown doesn't need to be turned upside down." At least he didn't call her Tiger or Sport. She glances across the flight deck, then goes the other way at a sedate walk. Her boots are heavy on the deck. She's gonna pass right by the floor show that is Castor and his self righteous whateverthatis.

Xanthus stops but looks completely unsurprised, "If I was trying to sneak away, I probably wouldn't be dancing the soft shoe in front of you." He turns to Castor and clears his throat. Yes, he is still wearing his helmet, which means it would have to be one incredibly interesting fistfight if it turns into one. He stops for a second, "Whatever I said, I'm really sorry." He almsot sounds sincere, except nobody really sounds sincere while saying something like that.

The onduty Marine body, usually there to absorb bullets, looks a bit more interested and alert as Ledo walks away from him and right into a confrontation looking occurance. Ashe stands a bit straighter and glances around, attempting to find one of those individuals who would claim to be in charge. Granted, it is like trying to find the Alpha Chimp in the zoo, but he still at least attempts the task.

Roubani glances up from the pile of papers on his clipboard, watching the Castor/Xanthus issue from under his brows. One arched a little.

Hale pauses as he watches the Captain change directions. Seeing that Morales is off and headed to the berthing probably, the Lieutenant merely turns from where he is moving and walks to come along at Kai's Four, or rather have the other flank. No doubt it isn't needed, but one never knows how quickly things can escalate. Specially when pride is the dish of the night.

Legacy glances over at Timon and offers him a grin, shaking her head. "Go decompress, Ivory. I think this is going to be a damned long night. We'll do our thanks a little later, once things have settled down a bit." She looks over at the Castor/Xanthus/Kai meeting of the minds and starts to steer Timon elsewhere, swinging by Roubani as she goes. "Evening, Thumper."

Castor isn't one for a fist fight, not his style, the clasp to his side arm however is strangely undone. It would seem that Castor isn't so much a fist fighter as must as he is a get the job done kind of guy, street life does that to a soul and Castor is no exception, however, for now his hands are no where near his side arm, "You watch your words or you are like never to dance again." His words come out with such cool detachment he might as well have said applesauce or any other word, because there is no emotion behind what he says, "And you are sorry? There isn't a word invented for how sorry you are." This is the strange thing, Leda in his entire history, has never been like this before.

"Captain," Roubani says quietly to Legacy. "Lieutenant. Eventful evening." Also a politely formal nod to Timon with that. His attention jarrs back to Castor and Xanthus, and he braces his clipboard against his hip.

Kai tugs down the zipper on his flight suit as he moves, pressure seals popped with the hand unoccupied with his helmet. "Good effort, Fingers," he tells Jupiter in passing, lips twitching, but not quite favouring her with a smile. It isn't quite smug; there's a hint of approval in his voice, that stymies it. "Leda. Walk with me. Double time." That's as he approaches the dynamic duo of Castor and Xanthus, with a Lieutenant in tow. He doesn't chase the taller Rabbit away, oh no. Backup is a good thing.

"Yeah, you'll get yours, Spider," Jupiter replies as she passes her squadron leader. She hits the stairwell before the chastisement patrol, and boots it on down to someplace with a frakkin' shower so she can wash off the stink of the mission.

"Solid copy, sir, solid copy." Timon isn't so oblivious that he can't see trouble brewing, and he has no interest whatsoever in getting caught by an inadvertent fist or elbow. His pace picks up ever so imperceptibly, even as he spares Roubani a trademark wan smile. "Ensign," says Ivory, tipping his head to the walking wounded. "Come find me sometime and I'll get you that book."

Xanthus coughs, which makes the glass of his helmet smudge a tiny bit, "Ok, ok. Let me see if I've got this straight. You're pissed at me, want Cylons to kill me, want to kill me yourself, but you're not going to tell me why." He rolls his eyes, "Please. I survived the end of the world /and/ my ship going down. I'll take my chances with a pilot who wants me to be psychic, too." He turns towards the stairs.

Roubani nods once to Timon. "Oh, yes. I'll come by berthing and collect it after duty, thank you." The prospect of new reading material to chew on (perhaps literally) at least sparks a faint smile onto his face.

"Jester." comes the usual Jovial bark from Rabbit, as it seems Kai is making motions to intercept Leda, he'll take the other JiG, and walk him out of here before something truly stupid or such happens. "Walk with me Boyo, I wanted t' go over some moves you an Rebound were pulling out there." Anything to diffuse the situation, or if he must at least line you up, to be able to tackle you if a fight does happy. Don't worry-think of it as an over eager lab-landing on you because he's happy to see you. "Common-Mate."

Leda, if nothing else, knows command, his eyes study Xanthus, as he backs off, however he doesn't say anything. In fact the look he is giving Xanthus is the same look he would give to an raider. He then looks over at Kai as he says, "Aye, sir." His movements to follow the Captain are calm, collected, and utterly emotionless.

Thea makes her way out, shaking her head as she goes, moving ahead of the two separate parades.

"That's a promise, Ensign. I'll see you at oh-sharp-hundred — rack eight, bottom." Because judging from the way Timon's scurrying out the hangar as quickly as his dignity (and his CO) will permit, he certainly isn't on top. "Captain Legacy, I'll see you at the debrief. A pleasure, as usual." Ivory allows himself one last curious look behind him, just in time to see a stiff pilot being led away by the Spider, and then he's gone, disappearing into the bowels of the ship.

Roubani glances after the moving group of Kai, Castor, Hale, and Xanthus one more time, then turns his eyes back down to his work. Click goes his pen, a couple notes, then it's off to debug some cranky code.

Wrangling viper pilots is like getting cats to sing. Even if you manage it, there's a strong chance it'll hurt. Hale is shot a brief glance from Kai as he veers off to play wingman, and corral Xanthus. A small nod, an even smaller smile. And then his hand is resting at the back of the taller pilot's shoulder, so he can steer him toward the stairs.

"Don't think we've formally had the pleasure, Rabbit. My name's Xanthus, and I'm an alcoholic!" Well, maybe it's not true. At least his enthusiastic greeting gets him away from Tinman. And though he's trying to appear unphased and unconcerned, he is plainly phased and concerned, "You know, me and Rebound just started flying, so I think the tactics you're referring to are normally called "dumb luck." But that thing you did over there…" He walks with Hale.

"Naw, you're a bloody new face to me, but then I got me th' Dog Wacth. Did some nice flying out there.." Hale says with a grin as he clasps Xanthus hard on the shoulder, in the usual Embrace to the side that every pilot can expect from the Tall Lieutenant. And so off he moves with Xanthus, voice trailing. They'll take the long way to the berthings. "…Yeah, so its a matter of control an how you handle the stick for that particular maneuver."

Ashe glances about as the situation seems to defuse, which certainly has him more at ease as he stands on his duty watch, which is always exciting to watch the specialists do their work.

Wrangling viper pilots is like getting cats to sing. Even if you manage it, there's a strong chance it'll hurt.
