Biographical Info

Ariadne Adelphi was left on the steps of the Temple at Delphi as an infant. There, she was taken in by the fathers and mothers to be raised among the faithful. (elaboration forthcoming — keep your shirt on!)

By Ariadne's account, she had ten fathers, twelves mothers, and twenty three sisters — all killed in the attacks on Caprica and Scorpia

Ariadne's education has been steeped in religious lore and the humanities, touching fairly basically on science and math. She has a degree in theology from the University of Delphi, but her intensive training at the Temple probably puts her closer to a master-near-doctorate level of knowledge.

Reputation (or Mil. Service)

It really depends on who you ask. There's not a lot of fence sitting when it comes to the Kharon's priestess — which is likely more because of what she represents than who she is. Lately, however, Ariadne has been attempting to reach out to people in a more "human," less ecclesiastical fashion. This seems to be helping matters, and some of the Kharon's crew have likewise attempted to see beyond her prayer beads.

Distinguishing Features

  • A mole slightly above and diagonal of her mouth
  • Often wearing a black cassock
  • Occasionally smokes, drinks, and curses
  • Can swing erratically between being wise as an Oracle and… just what she is: a young woman.

  • Speaks both Kalimnos and Kashmiri fluently
  • Animals love her. Give her seven dwarves, and she's totally Snow White.
  • Honest — to a fault. Beyond any hope of tact.
  • Also? A bad liar — if she TRIED to tell a lie, even a white one… epic fail.
  • Can occasionally be found in the gym practicing a tai-chi-esque martial art.

  • Animal husbandry
  • Craftwork (includes sewing, weaving, some leather-working — making practical things)
  • Horticulture

Mugshot The Skinny
Captain Karim Aiteru "Spider" Marek. Captain Marek seems very much an officer and a gentleman. A man of few words, he's also a man of faith. Still waters run deep.
Lieutenant JG Nadiv "Poet" Roubani. Nadiv is probably the closest thing I have to a friend on the Kharon — steeped in faith, honor, intelligence, compassion and all virtues the Lords could gift a man. His quiet dedication to duty is inspiring. I believe he will one day be a great leader of men, for he expects no more — or less — of others than he does of himself.
Lieutenant JG Castor "Tinman" Leda. I visited Castor when he was imprisoned in the brig, and our conversation revealed to me the character of a very sincere, caring individual. Though he's walked apart from the Lords for some time, I believe we found common ground in exploring the definitions of belief and perseverance.
Lieutenant Samantha "Case" Passi. I admire her strength and her courage; beneath that rough exterior is a woman of extraordinary character. She's not ready yet, I think, to resume a dialogue with the Lords… but may be closer than she thinks.
Ensign Jaimson Ferris. Jaimson showed up in the Chapel prior to one of his patrols and asked me to have coffee with him. I'm not sure which of us was more surprised when I accepted the invitation. He's a sweet man, and I'd welcome the chance to know him better.
Lieutenant JG Kisseus Heathrow "Madman" Matto. Kissy is a man beloved by many. To say that we got off to a bad start is an understatement large enough to have its own atmosphere. I hope that, in time, we can put that right and be friends.
Lieutenant Timon "Ivory" Stathis. Timon is adorable: subtly sweet, staggeringly intelligent, with the most delightfully covert sense of humor… I've told him as much. And he still wonders why I like him. Ah, well. Practice makes perfect.

Timeline of Events

"We of the Cloth have certainly earned our reputation as overbearing, over-pious, obnoxious, holier-than-thou, fire-and-brimstone, judgmental, intrusive, insensitive idiots… I hope I didn't leave any adjectives out, there."

"As we come to know the Lords, we see the spark of the divine in everything around us."

"There's a rather limitless array of possible miracles… But my favorites are the small ones. The restoration of the spirit that comes from prayer. The resurgence of strength when we're certain we can't take another step. The moments when we're loneliest and someone touches us, someone we've never connected with before.

"Cigarettes. Coffee. Chocolate. Ridiculous in jokes. Stupid, stumbling infatuation.

"The Lords lift those who lift others."

And, of course, "All this has happened before, and all this will happen again."
