Space

It's space with stars and darkness and shooting stars and ships and stars.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Out on CAP. Stellar, no pun intended. Roubani is settled in his Viper near Fenris' port - which is apparently much more interesting than the Kharon just now.

[JUDGE_570: Nike] It's quiet tonight. Almost.. too quiet. Well, not really; running CAP while in this sector of space is like hopping an obstacle course. Meteorites dot the darkness, tiny and perfectly benign blips on DRADIS.

[Wolf-8: Eddie] Eddie got clearance to fly, which is all that matters. Right now she's rocking out in her cockpit, if the headthrashing is any indication. Either that or she's having a seizure, as the music that fills her cockpit isn't projected over the comm system.

[Wolf-1: Fenris] Fen flies with her comrades on the CAP as, in the air is, briefly, the less exciting place to be. She looks around, keeping track of the debris, though she inverts to take an eyeball to what's 'under' the patrol every so often.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani catches a glimpse of Eddie headbanging in her Viper. He, of course, is not inclined to take up the same hobby, but it does tug a very faint smile onto his face nevertheless. He keeps an eye on the blips on his DRADIS as he follows Fen around, trying many fewer of her little inverting tricks. Let's not tempt fate.

[Wolf-8: Eddie] Eddie stops her jam session, catching something out of the corner of her eye. The music clicks off when she opens her com line.

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie says, "Section lead, you seeing that? The Kharon's winking at us. Looks like momma's flickin' the porch light…"

[JUDGE_570: Nike] Still nothing. Just the -ping- of the DRADIS consoles in the vipers as they pick up rock and debris. The CAP is out pretty far from Kharon, performing a sweep of sector twelve currently.

[Wolf-1: Fenris] Fen roll's back over and gives a lookover at the ship. She comms back and slows some of her velocity.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani glances up and turns his head, hearing the comms come on. He eases back on his Viper's throttle, twisting his shoulders to glance back.

[TAC3] "Mudguts" Fenris says, "Copy Mooner, cut thrust. Eyes on DRADIS."

[TAC3] "Mudguts" Fenris says, "CIC, Mudguts, we've got you blinking out here, is everything alright?"

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie says, "Copy that, Mud."

[JUDGE_570: Nike] Well, you know what they say about good things. And, what they say about calms before a storm. The silence is profound, the dark of space yawning— until it's shattered by a dozen blinding blips of light, like comets accelerated to terminal velocity. DRADIS consoles begin to -bleep- forebodingly, as contacts become sprinkled in amongst the rock debris.

[TAC3] Various voices are shouting into the com system all at once. Sheridan's is the forefront. "Multiple DRADIS contacts. Hostiles. Set Condition One. All personnel to your battle stations. MOVE IT! Get my birds in the tubes, marines to your muster stations. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.""

[TAC3] "Poet" Roubani says, "Sect lead, incoming."

[Wolf-7: Roubani] It's a good thing the comms aren't sensitive enough to pick up the sudden catch of Roubani's breath. He flips on his comm long enough to speak and then his hands are on the switch for his boosters, the undercarriage of his Viper briefly glowing as they heat on a dime.

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie says, "Frak me."

[TAC3] "Dash" Martin says, "CIC, Dash, green and scrambling."

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "CIC this is Foxbat Lead. I'm seeing Raiders out here."

[Wolf-8: Eddie] Eddie isn't so quiet, her curse said loudly. She sits up higher in her seat, fingers tightening around the stick.

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie says, "Mooner going weapons hot!"

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Thea's Raptor swings in behind the Vipers as she, and her ECO, start doing the work that needs to be done. The Captain's jaw is tight, very tight.

[TAC3] "Kharon Actual" Sheridan says, "Foxbat Lead, Confirmed on Raiders. Do we have a visual count?"

[Wolf-1: Fenris] Fen's Viper alters course to intercept the incoming as she thumbs the weapons to active.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] "Ares, exceeding in strength, chariot-rider, golden- helmed…" Roubani mutters the rest of the prayer under his breath. His Viper is weapons within a few seconds and a push of the throttle sends him shooting after Fenris.

[TAC3] "Poet" Roubani says, "Lead, Poet. On your five and weapons hot."

[Wolf-5: Martin] Dash's Viper soundlessly spits from the side of the carrier and pushes hard to clear out of the crash distance. Then, he angles his Viper to meet up with the rest of the group, checking his Dradis as he appears into formation. He's quiet, very quiet.

[TAC3] "Mudguts" Fenris says, "Poet, Lead copy. Form on me, tandem formation. On my fire, light them up and break hard right, keep them away from Cat and the Kharon. Dash! You out here, yet?"

[JUDGE_570: Nike] Without even so much as a 'how do you do', the sleek ships fan out and roll in, guns lighting up soundlessly in the black.

[TAC3] "Kharon Actual" Sheridan says, "This is Kharon Actual. Keep a tight eye on those ships, I don't need any slipping through the ranks and trying to be a hero for their kind."

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Kharon Actual, Foxbat lead. I'm showing 7 raiders and 3 heavy raiders."

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani follows his new lead, making a beeline not for the raiders dispatched to take them out but first for the heavy raiders, carrying cargo that he can only guess is headed for the Kharon.

[TAC3] "Kharon Actual" Sheridan says, "Affirmative Foxbat Lead. Kharon Actual confirms seven raiders and three heavy raiders."

[Wolf-8: Eddie] Sliding her ship in, she forms up tight with Roubani and the lead, her lips pressed tightly together. There's still a split in the lower one, and her left eye is horribly blackened behind her visor but her dark eyes are sharp as she angles in trying to lock weapons on one of the bandits.

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Black Cat's Raptor takes up a position somewhat behind the line of Vipers - she clearly knows better than to front line things. She's a back liner. "We're going to try to jam the heavy raiders," she tells her ECO quietly, voice low, calm.

[Wolf-5: Martin] Seeing two on him, Martin breathes quietly and checks his DRADIS for the amount of room that he has around him. "Black Cat, Dash. I'm gonna buy you some cover hang in tight allright? Dash out." He says, bursting forward above Legacy's Raptor to provide some forward cover, while maintaining a juking defensive swagger. Aiming at R1, he thumbs down on the stick, opening fire.

[Wolf-8: Eddie] Eddie guns on her bandit, throttling hard and fast after him. The dogfight that ensues isn't pretty, Eddie's moving too fast to get a solid hit on her Raider. When she banks around to get back in formation, he clips her wing and she waggles a moment before regaining control.

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Black Cat pulled her bird back behind the Vipers, but it wasn't far enough. Her ECO announces the jamming of one of the Heavy Raiders even as the Raptor gets hit, hard. "Frak," she mutters quietly. "Hold on," the woman tells the poor ECO. "We're going to try something a little different."

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Dash and Mudguts, Black Cat. I'm pulling my tails around in front of you to pick them off. Get these bastards off of me so I can jam those heavy raiders."

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani hears Legacy's announcement of jamming too late to stop the shots across the heavy raider's nose. Which miss anyway, so it's a moot point. He sucks his teeth as a burst of fire shudders the back of his Viper and jams down hard on the stick, attempting to throw the thing off his tail. Aiming down at R1 where Martin was, he tries to get the rest of the wolfpack off Legacy's Raptor.

[JUDGE_570: Nike] Raiders scream past, flooding the birds' canopies with light as guns spark off and pour rounds into their targets. The heavy raiders, it should be noted, are splitting off from the 'pack' and sloping in toward Kharon itself. Dash's guns slice through the tail of one of them, and several of their more nimble cohorts manage to tear up the underbelly of the raptor trying to slip away.

[Wolf-5: Martin] Dash snarls as his guns cut into the heavy raider, banking hard to try to keep them off of Black Cat's Raptor. "Hang in there I'm …frak. Go evasive, Black Cat, go evasive!" He barks over the comms as he dodges a wave of incoming fire. Seeing Roubani going for the attack to defend Legacy, he yanks hard back on the stick and angles to attack the Raider on Eddie's tail.

[JUDGE_570: Nike] K, Martin kills R6, Eddie and Roubes kill R1, R2 is fried by Legs for a round, heavy raiders are headed for Kharon still and Eddie just took some heavy damage.

[Wolf-8: Eddie] At the direction of their section lead, Eddie peels off, heading for the Raiders attacking Legacy's Foxbat. She can sure cut a pretty arc, but can she hit her target. Forcing her breathing to even out, Eddie takes a little bit more time this go around, lining up her shot and throttling back so the timing is just right. A solid hit, but so is the one her bird takes. The momentum of the hit sends her in a roll, and she drops suddenly in her pitch.

[TAC3] "Dash" Martin says, "CIC, Dash, heavies inbound, repeat, heavies inbound, over."

[JUDGE_570: Nike] They are going to in my next pose, to speed things up for the people waiting ship-side.

[TAC3] "Kharon Actual" Sheridan says, "Affirmative, Dash."

[Wolf-7: Roubani] "Dammit!" Roubani swears loud enough to be heard over the comm. One of the raiders on Legacy may be smithereens, but the heavy raiders are slipping past with their cargo. He bends past the Raider shooting at him, taking a graze across his wing, and arcs back to take a shot at one of the other two Raiders on Legacy.

[JUDGE_570: Nike] It's odd perhaps, but the raiders' flying doesn't seem quite so random as it has on prior occasions. It's almost as if they're trying to keep the wing busy, and cover for the transports rolling in toward Kharon. One of the raiders spins vertically a few times on its axis as Eddie's gunfire rips through it, then explodes in a shower of metal fragments as Roubani finishes it off. Another is sliced in half by Martin's gunfire, a hunk of wing boomeranging into a meteorite and exploding.

[Wolf-5: Martin] "CIC, Dash, heavies inbound, repeat, heavies inbound, over." Dash calls out over the comms as he continues to juke around the fire. Criss-crossing over Eddie's Viper, he does an afterburn slide to draw a passing bead on the Raider that was on her tail, lighting it up only a few moments too late. "Damnit, Mooner, Status?!?" He calls out, lining up on R4, opening fire.

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie just breathes over the com for a minute as she takes stock and gets her bird back under control. "She's not pretty, but she's alive. Mooner is still green!"

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Thea's doing her utter damndest to keep the raiders busy. It's a game of cat and mouse, only Black Cat is playing mouse today, drawing the Raiders to the cats with bigger claws. "Keep jamming," she tells her ECO, voice tight. "We need to stop those heavy raiders. They're toying with us."

[Wolf-7: Roubani] "Captain, hang in there!" Roubani jams his throttle forward, breaking off from the Raider frenzy. A burst of blue takes him after one of those damned heavy raiders to intercept - maybe they can't get all three but even one would be worth it before they can get to the Kharon.

[JUDGE_570: Nike] Martin gets a grazing hit on the raider after roubani, Roubes knocks out the propulsion on one of the heavies, nothing happens to Eddie, and Martin gets gangbanged by a couple of raiders that turned on him when Legs slipped away.

[TAC3] "Poet" Roubani says, "Splash one heavy raider."

[Wolf-7: Roubani] ooc nike, could we get a recap of what raiders are aiming where now?

[Wolf-5: Martin] "Dash taking heavy…" He manages to get out through his rocking helmet as he's double teamed up on. Going heavily evasive and fighting for his life, Martin works his Viper as hard as it can go, fighting for an angle to dodge the incoming fire while defending himself. With Black Cat freed, he doesn't attempt to get around the two piloting against him. Instead, he angles to lead them on a wild goose chase. "POET, Dash. I'm coming in from your starbard be ready for me. I'm trailing two!" He says, making a bobbing and weaving beeline towards the one that's attacking Roubani. With that…he opens fire.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani puts two shots into the engine of one of the hellbent heavy raiders, blowing the back out of it. It's still intact but now floats aimlessly, spinning towards blackness instead of the Kharon. The other two are beyond him and he grits his teeth, swinging back around to the fray behind them. Blasts from the Raider chasing him go shooting past him without scraping his paint and he looks up as Martin comes screaming past with his trails. He shoves the Viper up into a hard X with Dash, taking shots at one of the Raiders chasing the Lieutenant as Martin returns the favour. "Dash, Poet, I see you. Aiming at your dust."

[JUDGE_570: Nike] One of the heavy raiders at the back of the pack, is unlucky enough to bear the brunt of Roubani's gunfire. While the machine isn't destroyed, the Ensign does manage to tear it a new escape hatch; glass splinters and blows out, hunks of its hull torn off as the transport goes into an unrecoverable spin. A couple of centurions are flung from the burning machine, whipping past Roubani's viper and off into space to become pretty new stars. Meanwhile, the rest of the fighters are still intent on making the pilots' lives miserable. Most of them have focused their efforts on Dash.

[Wolf-8: Eddie] Eddie is doing a fantastic impression of a limping puppy, but at least she's holding it together. She's at least entertaining a Raider, and if they could laugh, they probably would.

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Black Cat hesitates only for a moment before calling back to her ECO, "We're going after them. I want you to jam those raiders to give Mooner a chance to get out of dodge."

[JUDGE_570: Nike] So Martin manages to duck behind a meteorite and one of the raiders explodes it instead of him. The other suffers a misfire from Legacy's ECM, and actually hits his friend instead of Martin. And Eddie and Roubani each take a couple more hits. Eddie's in kinda bad shape, though not dire yet.

[Wolf-5: Martin] Martin is sweating, he's got a trail of Vipers and he's definitely causing a bit of a ruckus on the field. Ironic as it is, he's not having the best time out there. Pure adrenaline taking over, creating a hole in his stomach, his Viper rounds from around the meteorite and screams in towards the Raider that's trailing Eddie. "Mooner, Dash, break down and to port. I'mma gonna git this sonofabi—" His words are drowned out by the sounds of the internal rattling from his firing weapons, breathing hatred down on the thing.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani has to make decisions with this thing still tailing him. Seeing Martin aiming for Eddie's Viper he swings around to concentrate fire on it for this pass. Maybe he interpreted 'to port' as 'to Martin's port', since that's where he goes.

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Black Cat swings around again, flying hot and heavy as she goes after the Raider that's chasing Roubani. He's helping someone else, she's helping him.

[Wolf-8: Eddie] Eddie hears the order from Dash, and she drops down fast but not fast enough to avoid fire tracing up her backside. Her engine starts to sputter, and she's doing her best to hang on. Her face is ashen as she tries to pull it together and do some damage.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "CIC, Spider, permission to get this bird off the deck and get out there."

[TAC3] "Kharon Actual" Sheridan says, "You are cleared for launch, Spider."

[TAC3] "Tinman" Castor says, "Tinman to acctual, permission to launch so I can smoke the enemy."

[TAC3] "Kharon Actual" Sheridan says, "Kharon Actual, Tinman. Cleared for launch."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Sorry for the delay, ladies and gentlemen. I had to wrestle a bulkhead that wouldn't take no for an answer. What's our status?"

[TAC3] "Poet" Roubani says, "Somebody get those damn things off Dash!"

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani makes a face at the Raider overhead, one that would be best accompanied by giving the finger. His Viper shudders but it's nowhere near in as bad shape as Martin's and Eddie's are. His hands are busy on the stick and firing button as he aims for another pass at the raider dogging Eddie.

[Wolf-5: Martin] Dash is trailing two Vipers and is rolling and banking around the furball of combat. Sweating heavily as he fights to control his breathing, he's a wildcat trailing the tracer rounds from the two Raiders on his tail. They haven't gotten him yet, but Mooner's taking damage. Pressing his luck again, he barks out over the comms. "Poet and Mooner, Dash. I've got two on my tail and Mooner you've got one. Let's drum up some crazy shit here…" Martin pauses, grunting as he yanks his stick into a hard dive. "…head to mark 45 karom twelve, Poet head in from FRAK! Son of a …head in from MARK 60 and Mooner in from 12. Let's criss cross them, see if we can get them to ram eachother. Dash out."

[TAC3] "Poet" Roubani says, "Copy, Dash!"

[TAC3] "Poet" Roubani says, "Tinman, Poet. I'm /fine/, get them off Mooner and Dash!"

[Wolf-8: Eddie] Eddie's getting chewed up and spit out, if she could get out and smack some duct tape on it, she might be fairing better. Her engine sputters again, as she takes more heavy flak from the Raider on her tail, and it's all she can do not to spin out into an asteroid. "Gods…" A pause. "Copy." She grits her teeth and banks around, her ship shuddering with the hard throttle.

[Wolf-1: Kai] Better late than never, the squadron Captain blasts out of the tubes and lines up his guns on one of Martin's bogeys. He's still a little far out, and his tracers snake off uselessly into the black. Gunning his thrusters, he streaks in for a deeper pass.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] To say Roubani's mildly pissed at this raider trailing Eddie would be the understatement of the night. Arcing around to cross with Martin, he lines up a shot.

[TAC3] "Tinman" Castor says in a calm and scarily cool voice, "Roger that Poet, switching targets now and moving into position."

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Thea swings around after trying to jam the raider on Roubani and her cursing can be heard clearly by the poor ECO in her back seat. "We're going after Dash. He's going to have to be hauled in. Keep supressing," she tells the poor man with her.

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Dash, Black Cat. We're going to try to haul you out of there if you get hit again. It'll have to be fast."

[Wolf-6: Castor] Tinman keeps to his word and switches targets moving into attack. His face is expressionless, it looks as if the lights are on but no one is there, however his hands keep working smoothly as he pilots his hunk of flying metal towards the enemy.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Dash, what shape are you in? If it's worse than 'bad', you are ordered to RTB."

[Wolf-6: Castor] Tinman seems to be having a hard time establishing a good shot on Raider 3, however, he doesn't seem to be letting up as Wolf-6 makes another attempt to send the flying tincan to Cylon heaven.

[TAC3] "Dash" Martin says, "Spider, Dash, I've got damage to port weaponry and my port aft landing strut. I'm still in it but my landing's gonna be a pain in the ass, over."

[Wolf-5: Martin] Turning towards the maneuver that will hopefully be crazy enough to causes some distress to the attacking Raiders, Dash is operating now on one cannon, the other sputtering as he shuts off its ammo feed. With a few sparks and sputterings, he's still got full engine control as he banks into the turn, the last bit of the high risk maneuver. "Allright guys when you see me pass, open up. Send these frakkers to hell." Dash says, praying a little bit.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani is still trying to knock Eddie's little friend off her tail. The Ensign's luck may be getting a little cold after the sniper shot at the heavy raider earlier, but he's certainly not giving up. He brings the bird around sharply, keeping Dash and the others in his viewport, and lets the Lieutenant sail by before opening fire.

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Black Cat is doing her best to stay the hell out of the way of the Vipers, while bedeviling the Raiders. Her ECO manages to do some of his magic with the jamming. It's not a lot, but she's also the only Raptor in the dance. Kind of like being the only cat at the dog fight. Oh, wait. She -is-. "Come on, Come on, Come on," Thea murmurs under her breath. Then she hits her radio.

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Kharon Actual, Black Cat. If there are any handy, we're going to need a medical crew in the hangar bay when this dance is over. Both for the pilots and the birds. We've got at least one bird coming in wounded."

[TAC3] "Kharon Actual" Sheridan says, "Affirmative Black Cat. We will notify Medical and Deck to stand ready for your landing."

[Wolf-6: Castor] Tinman seems to be having a hard time establishing a good shot on Eddie's tincan as well. He pilots Wolf-6 bringing her in close so he can get the best shot on the Raider. His breathing has slowed down, his heart rate as well, the greater the preasure the more quiet the Aquarian becomes. However, no one is going to die especially not right now if Tinman can help it. His hands move as he fires on the raider as calmly as someone else might walk across the room.

[Wolf-8: Eddie] Sputter sputter cough sputter. Eddie's trying to milk the last little breath of life out of ship. She can't manuever now, with a frak, but her guns are still operational. She rolls slightly, laying on the rounds thick. If she can't hit them with accuracy, maybe she'll just get lucky.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani is definitely not as calm as he could be. His heart's been pounding for a long while now, and the adrenaline in him's being wrung for all it's worth. His hand is little shakier on the stick, unable to help it, but his focus remains on that raider in his viewport.

[Wolf-1: Kai] The second pass is the ticket, it seems. Kai strafes in deep to a gutsy split-s and opens up on Dash's pursuers with a flash of gun cannons. His hits are solid, shearing off a wingtip, and the bandit briefly spins before regaining control.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani draws in a sharp inhale through his nose as his shots miss, willing his impossibly tensed shoulders to relax. A soft prayer to Ares is muttered inside his cockpit, not loud enough to trigger his comm unit, and his thumb hits the fire button again.

[Wolf-6: Castor] Wolf-6 gets in close, almost too close, however a volley of hot metal death screams from her guns and finds a new home inside of the tincan's engine. Tinman's face is still expressionless as the attack has hit, if someone tapped his veins ice water might come out.

[Wolf-5: Martin] "What…are they feeding these things?!?" Martin makes a joke through the angst and frustration of combat. Seeing as how everyone is ganging to save Mooner, and people are working on saving HIM, he keeps with what he's doing. "Allright Mooner we got reinforcements stay frosty…" He encourages, letting her know help is on the way.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Mooner, Dash, RTB. You can grab a new bird if the Chief'll let you swap out. Black Cat, fry the hell out of anything that tries to chase them for me, would you?"

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] "YES," Black Cat says quietly as more Raiders are hit. The earlier darkness seems to have lifted, at least a little bit. Her bird swings wide, coming back toward a raider.

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Spider, Black Cat. Coming in hot and heavy on you. You stuff magnets in your shorts again, man? Who the hell told you to teach your pilots that trick? Get out there and hunt."

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani is silent, watching Martin and Eddie to see if they can safely get out of this tangle.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "It's my irresistible personality, Black Cat."

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie says, "Copy that, Spider. I don't know if I have enough juice…my thrusters are shot to hell..*unintelligable cussing follows*"

[TAC3] "Dash" Martin says, "Copying Spider, Dash RTB."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Mooner, do you need SAR?"

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "CIC, Spider, what are your orders? We still have several unfriendlies out here."

[TAC3] "Kharon Actual" Sheridan says, "All Active Air Personnel. Return to Base, I repeat, Return to Base. We are spinning up FTLs for emergency jump."

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Copy, Actual."

[Wolf-8: Eddie] "Come on…come on…" Eddie mutters, going so far as to try and reroute some juice by turning off her HUD. "FRAK!"

[TAC3] "Tinman" Castor says, "Copy, acctual. Though I was just having fun with a raider."

[Wolf-6: Castor] Tinman spins around and flies in with a combat landing and all.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "All points, we are RTB- *sounds of gunfire and clanking* -disengage and head home."

[TAC3] "Poet" Roubani says, "Lead, Poet. Mooner needs some towing."

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie says, "Affirmative!"

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani circles around the retreat area, keeping an eye on Eddie. Order's in to RTB but damned if he's leaving someone out here.

[Wolf-5: Martin] Grunting to himself as a few sparks fire internally inside of his cockpit, Dash kicks at a handle near the floor trying to get his landing gear down. The ammo feed manages to spark, sending some shrapnel inside of his cockpit, a groaning snarl coming from his communication. Clearly something 'popped' inside of the cockpit, hard to tell what it is. Martin does manage to hard land the Viper, with a bit of a tilt to it, nearly shearing off the port fin in the process.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Actual, Spider. I have a pilot who needs SAR out here. Permission for Poet and I to cover the rescue?"

[TAC3] "Dash" Martin says, ""Trying to get this….damn…GEAR…*sounds of hitting something inside*. This is Dash prep crash teams I'm coming in h— *POP, pop, crack* NNNNNNnnnnnngngggghhh! Fire malfunction. Crash teams…"

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Spider, Poet, I've got her. Cover me while I go in get some ropes on her. Mooner, not a frakking word about the ropes."

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie says, "For once I'm on my best behavior. Just get me home, Black Cat."

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Legacy's Raptor spins a little less easily than it normally does as she comes about to make a beeline for the Marooned Mooner. "Get ready to deploy the tow ropes," she tells her ECO quietly. "And get ready to catch a wrath of shit when we get back about Mooner and bondage." The ECO just groans.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani is still trying to dodge the raiders clawing on various tails. He's in no mood to joke, silent on the comms as he arcs up to cover Kai's starboard.

[Wolf-1: Kai] Kai's viper swoops in closer to the dead-in-the-water Eddie, attempting to act as a shield for any raiders still trying to pick her off.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani is ever the dutiful wingman, watching where Kai is aiming and swiveling the joystick around to cover the same target.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani's dark eyes lift, watching the Raider attempting a swoop down on him. He cuts and banks sharply, his wing slicing upwards and letting the blast of fire go past. Heel of his hand jamming his thrusters on to stop his spin, he arcs upwards and lays fire into the raider attacking the towing Raptor, blasting its undercarriage at the same time as Kai.

[Wolf-8: Eddie] Eddie can't do frak-all but beat her fist against her canopy, her frustration evident as she waits for pick up. The fight continues around her, but there's nothing she can do to help. She's a floating brick.

[Wolf-1: Kai] As Roubani cuts to port, Kai swoops to starboard, rattling off a volley of shots at the raider who tries to sneak in on Legacy. As the bandit's friends hone in on the viper Captain, he pivots his bird over on its belly and drops away sharply to scatter their fire wild. His helmeted head does a jerk over his shoulder to see how the raptor is coming along with picking up his pilot, and then he's swinging in again for another pass on their attackers.

[Foxbat-1: Legacy] Black Cat's raptor takes yet another hit, but she's managing to limp it along. Her jaw works just a little as the ropes get deployed and attached to the stuck Mooner. And…THERE. Got it.

[TAC3] "Spider" Kai says, "Black Cat, Spider. Got your claws into her yet? We're running short on time here."

[TAC3] "Black Cat" Legacy says, "Mooner, hang in there, and quit flipping me off. Your boys were spending too much time grinning at each other and I had a little visitor stop by. Viper Lead, Foxbat Lead. Got her. If you hadn't been making eyes at that Raider I'd have gotten her faster. Quit flirting and get us the frak out of here. CIC, Foxbat Lead. RTB, one in two, two escort."

[TAC3] "Mooner" Eddie mutters in to the comms, her eyes closing behind the faceplate and her head thunking backwards. If she were picked out of the Black, there's little she could do, so she'd rather not know it's coming. "Take me home, my feet hurt and I'm done dancing."

[Wolf-1: Kai] As soon as Legacy's latched onto his pilot, Kai swings his bird around in a one-eighty and pours a few more rounds into the raider who's got eyes for her. The shots slice through its undercarriage and wing, setting off a chain of explosions as the fighter breaks apart at high velocity, mid-streak. Rolling away then, he tails the pair back to the ship's waiting flight deck.

[Wolf-7: Roubani] Roubani misses his next set of shots but says nothing over comm. Then again he's been silent for a while. He cuts around and starts towards the Kharon at high gear, covering the retreat.

Hangar Bay #1 - Hangar Deck

There's activity here at almost every hour of the day. Impact guns can be heard with their shrieking rumble while crew call back and forth, their voices carrying just above the din of the work here. What's readily apparent is that this is the main Hangar Bay for the Vipers, the distance going back further than the other two Bays which are separated by thick, hydraulically rolled blast doors. On each side of the room, near the Fore end, six Viper tubes are ready for quick deployment of the Kharon's Viper squadron. Lining the rest of Hangar Bay One, each Mark Two and Mark Seven has its own place to be kept with a small red toolchest that holds the minimum of required equipment for quick maintenance.

Along the floor, each individual Viper bay is painted off with a single hashed yellow and black stripe. A deep red line denotes important electrical conduits and access ports just below the deck while a bright blue line follows up walls and across the floor to tell where the Tylium lines run in case of fire. Outlets along the wall for the fuel as well as corrugated rubber piping stand ready for use, fluorescent yellow firefighting gear kept in plain sight for easy access nearby.

Thea's bird comes down and she gets out of the cockpit. Well, her ECO gets out first, a little shakily, giving his captain odd looks. But he's down on the ground. Thea, though, well, it takes her a minute or two to come down. This close in, her bird took a good bit of damage. And when she takes her helmet off to climb down to the deck, it's clear she took some as well. There's a trail of blood streaking down the side of her face and her skin seems a little paler than normal. But she comes down, in her flight suit, only wavering slightly. "MEDICS," she calls, using Command Voice for one of the few times anyone's ever heard it. "Get up into Mooner's bird." A nearby medic takes off like their heels were set on fire, going at top speed for Eddie's Viper.

The ship is in chaos, and by proxy, so is the deck. Birds landing at random, as injured as their pilots. It requires a different sort of attention, and even as their bleeding humans are shipped off, Fenix is barking orders at the deck crew that scrambles around the various Raptors and Vipers. Fenix herself is moving toward one of the more wounded looking Vipers, though dark eyes continue to sweep the deck at whole. Watching as each ship lands, and as each pilot either steps, or is carried, out.

Roubani pulls off his helmet once his feet have hit flight deck, bird towed, safely stashed, and now to be repaired as best deck possibly can. A case of post-adrenaline shakiness turns his signature on his post-flight checklist into scrawl, and the back of his flightsuit's right shoulder has some damp red splotches where something in the cockpit ripped him after a blast. He remains where he is near his bird, getting in no medics' way. Watching Martin, watching Eddie.

Eddie gets towed home again home again, jiggity jig. The process is slow, but finally, her dead-as-a-door-nail bird gets docked, the engine still hissing its nasty displeasure at the onslaught it received. Slowly, Eddie pops her canopy and lifts her ass out of the seat and balances it on the edge of the cockpit, taking her sweet time about swinging her legs over the side to find the ladder. Seeing medical start to swarm her way, she peels off her helmet and lets it drop into a deck hands waiting grasp. "I'm fine."

Kai has popped the canopy and clambered out of his viper in record time. Even the offer of assistance with his seat harness and helmet is waved off, as is the damage to his bird— one wing is smoking from a few neat bullet holes. He clatters down the ladder and heads across the deck at the quickest clip his limp will allow. Martin on his passing gurney is given a clap across the right shoulder, and a flickered smile as the Captain briefly looks him over. Then it's onto Eddie's bird, the young pilot scrutinised heavily as he draws up along side.

With a series of grunted protests, Martin stays in the gurney. He's just angry at the white-hot pain inside of him as she heated shrapnel cools. Now that his body starts to calm it really begins to hurt, the medics having to hold him down until they can get into him to pry the shards out of him. Blinking, he sees Kai and opens his mouth to say something, but the words fail him.

Legacy starts to lean against her bird. She gets a shoulder against it, looking as though she's about to pass out, when she catches sight of Roubani. Apparently there's something about the younger man that has her digging a little deeper. Off she pushes, heading in that direction, though slowly. "Poet," she calls quietly, on approach.

Martin has left.
Samantha has left.

Eddie decends the ladder like she has to wade through molasses to do it. There's a wince at the corner of her eyes, making the delicate skin wrinkle that's amplified as old habits die hard and she jumps off the last few rungs to hit deck. Oof. "Dash going to be okay?" She asks Captain Marek, one hand on her side and pressing as she straightens back up.

Roubani's dark eyes shift from watching Kai and Eddie to watching Legacy, one movement. "Yes, sir."

Kai sucks in a deep breath as Eddie climbs out of the cockpit, and releases it slowly. "Dash'll be fine." His eyes drift along her side, noting the hand pressed there. "Get yourself down to sickbay, Morales. And good flying out there." Last on his list is the raptor Captain, whom he turns to watch for a long while, without approaching. There's caked and dried blood around his forehead, temple and cheek, and fresher blood seeping through his dark hair. It looks like an injury he suffered before climbing into the cockpit.

Eddie's tongue passes over her dry lips, skimming right over the nice split that's in the bottom one. "Just got rattled against my harness." One eye is black, that and her lip obviously didn't happen in the cockpit. "Yes sir, I'll make my way down to medical. Thank you sir." Though the latter is hardly heartfelt. She came back on the end of a tow line, afterall. Eyes do a sweep past Kai, until she finds Roubani as if to confirm that he's walking around of his own accord. A slight smile is offered, and then she's heading for the stairs.

She watches Poet for a long moment, leaning against a nearby crate casuall. Perhaps too casually. "Good flying out there, Poet," she says softly. "And thank you for saving my ass. You did good work. I…would hope you would consider heading to sickbay to get checked out, even though you look fine." She can't, of course, order him. "Try to get some rest tonight. If you need anything, come find me?"

Roubani just looks at Legacy for a while. His eyes flicker past her to Kai, sensing the waiting, and he looks back at her with a slight nod. "You should get some sleep, sir. Gods keep you." He looks back at Kai and gives the same kind of formal nod, then turns to head off. Stairs ahoy.
